    Make 10 a day September 2016 - everybody welcome 31st Aug 16 at 1:59 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 109th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir for keeping the thread going.

I know this first post is long, but please read as it give tips on how this challenge works. Some of the content has changed

If you're new to the challenge don't be scared - here's how it works:

The aim of this challenge is to make 10 extra a day everyday for the month. A lot of people think this is impossible but it can and has been done, over and over. If you feel 10 is too much why not start at 5 or if you're brave join those who aim for 20 a day! Anything extra you make is great so set whatever target you think you can manage.

It also doesn't have to be 10 each and every day - some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for 310 extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:
    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:
    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:
    Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything.

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

also join topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Sealed Pot Challenge 2016 - basically you put your change into a jar over the year so in December you should have a nice pot of money to help

Mobile phone to recycle? try Martin's mobile recycling comparison site first to see where you may get the best deal!

Music Magpie - have cds/dvds you haven't been able to sell at carboots or online. Try your luck here. Is you do sell your albums/dvds be sure to go via quidco to get a few more pennies

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Collect Boots points while shopping online.

Don't forget to search for your online shop at nectar.com before you buy, and earn nectar points for buying online, including ebay.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make 310 (or any amount of course!) lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it. She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

We can and we will do it. Who's in?

Have been listing more things on Etsy. It takes time to do but finger crossed it will be worth it in the run up to Xmas. I've even bought (yes I know) a super duper new set of electronic scales that are specifically for postage so I shouldn't get burnt on the p&p again. I think of it as an investment!

Don't feel bad about buying reliable scales. I agree that they're an investment for someone who has to price the postage for a lot of stuff. They'll repay the outlay before you know it. When my last set of really old and used-to-destruction ones gave up on me and I was using some not very accurate kitchen scales I used to dread the setting postage prices bit of my listings. I've now got some new postal scales but they weren't very expensive. They had lots of very positive reviews so I thought them worth a try (plus, I couldn't afford anything more expensive) and so far they are a godsend especially for items which are just on the margin of price points.

adding a 5.00 voucher from te5co for complaining that i couldn't work my bill out, and why could no one explain it to me after 4 phone calls. A post of MSE got me the answer.
I thought i'd been overcharged by 10.00, turns out its the way they work out there substitutions.
    Anyway - its a fiver.

A lot of regular posters haven't been on here much this month. I know Lynne is on holiday and I assume some others are too but it seems pretty quiet a lot of the time.

    I hope everyone is OK

Did a PA survey this morning (1 for about 10 minutes) but I got the Error 404 message when I tried to submit it. I later got an email from the researcher saying I wouldn't be paid for it so I've emailed to explain. Just been on the PA notifications thread that Surfchik set up and someone else has reported the exact same problem. Maybe if there are enough of us they may realise it's a system fault and pay us.

3 things sold on eBay, paid for and posted. Only cheapish items, haven't worked out fees etc yet so will update sig later. Still a few more listings up with watchers but no buyers. Not going to list anything else now until I get a good FV fee offer

Otherwise, nothing else to add. I hope you're all still trying hard for the last days of the month

New scales arrived today and I am v happy with them. Wonder if we've got the same ones? These have a flap which can hold a poster tube if necessary and are already much more suitable than my kitchen scales

    Hi all!

Been really busy at work and with the house buying bumpf this week, but still managed to sell a few bits on ebay and Gumtree. Will total them up this weekend...after seeing whether the Gumtree items are collected. I've also managed to sell a few more teaching resources, so will add that to my total when I do the sums this weekend.

I know it's only 1 (I'm such a cheapskate) but it was refused through no fault of mine (an error 404 on their system) so I was fighting for a principle

Have just redeemed 16 via Paypal from MySurvey. I remember you saying your recent payment was slow to come through so I hope I get mine before the end of this month.

Nothing sold anywhere so still struggling to make the last few pounds to reach my target.
