    Looking for fitted wardrobes

Looking for fitted wardrobes 12th Jul 16 at 2:56 PM
    Hi All,

I've just bought my first home and ready to move in by end of September to mid October. Looking for fitted wardrobes in the master bedroom as well as a bedside table and dresser.

Can anyone help recommend a good reputable company and it would be really nice if you have had first hand experience too. My friends advised to stay away from the big brands and I can see why as the quality is compromised often when I read reviews.

Feel free to ask me more questions

    Thanks for your help!

I used carcasses from IKEA to fill a 2.5m recess and then put sliding doors on the front.

Otherwise, I'd get a carpenter to build wardrobe frames/doors and use the IKEA KOMPLEMENT accessories where possible. A full komplement drawer can cost less than just the runners from a trade supplier!

I've used specialists who build bespoke too, but they're really expensive.

I've used this company before and been happy. You need to self assemble though. Good customer service and after sales too.

They also have a sister site for sliding wardrobes and interiors.

My husband made ours, love them because they go floor to ceiling with no gaps at all. A perfect fit. We've got cupboards either side of the bed and cupboards above the bed and also some triangular glass shelved compartments (don't know what to call them lol) either side of the bed. We are still deciding how to decorate them as I don't want a wood look.

In our last house we had Shortwood Carvings which were lovely but a bit old fashioned for this house.

    Thanks for all your replies!

I've had Ikea before and unfortunately it didn't work out so keen to avoid and want a all in one service.

Calling a few later today. My earlier calls were unsuccessful, some businesses don't seem to have good customer service at all and I don't want to ripped off in price

Not Sharp. Paid a fortune and the doors delaminated.

    Hi All,

    Just an update.

Found a great company Capital Bedrooms. So pleased of their easy to deal with people. They gave me a good quote and I also went to their showroom in Perivale (London) shortly after to meet the rep Hardy and owner James. After choosing my wood colours and handles they came out within a week and a half to fit and in just one day

Really happy and got my flooring done with them too.

New home almost ready to move in now yayyy!!

    Thanks for your replies.

We used Hammonds before and weren't very happy with the experience. My issue was that they don't employ any of their fitters. They are all subcontracted individuals, so one person could fit your wardrobes today and could be another person dealing with issues later. Makes it very hard to get consistent customer experience, so I am not planning to use them again.

If you are near London, find capital bedrooms in perivale and check them out. It's family business and even though their showroom was in renovations I was impressed from what was on show and even better all their material is cut in the premises like a one-stop place. They even gave me a 10yr guarantee certificate

It did take me a long time to find one, but it was worth it!

Thanks for the tip. I'm also looking for one too, so I might as well give Capital Bedrooms a try.
