    I know the feeling very well 3dogs and I'm only just 40 - I've already been told I'll need a new knee soon and my other one is playing up now too. Here, the BMI limit on the NHS is 30 and I'm hovering around that I know what I need to do but sometimes the pain after exercise, or even during if on the cross trainer is too much to bear and I end up not being able to do the exercise I so need to do.

    It's a viscous circle that doesn't have any magic results :

    Velvet boy, beautiful coat. When I ruffle my hands through Stanley Boy's fur on his head I find the odd scab and have to pick it off , I can't help it, I just have to do it

    When I had my hip replacement op, my BMI was 40ish Most of the surgeons I saw said I had to lose weight first. One surgeon I saw that he was prepared to do the op as he reckons I would lose weight after through being more active. And he was right
    BMI now is about 31 so still to high
