The old thread can be found here.

Please use this new thread to report any good finds in the Discount stores Aldi & Lidl.
You can also report any not so good deals as a warning to others.

The Stollen bites and other xmas food was being given away FREE in my local Lidl this morning, plenty left and they want it shifted by next week.

Hardly surprising I guess, but milk (4 pints) has now increased from 99p to £1.09.

Just checked the Asda receipt - £1.09

However 4 pints DEFINITELY 99p in ICELAND yesterday afternoon - bought it myself having declined Aldi`s and walked the few yards down the road to see what theirs cost.

Around here Lidl seem to be the cheapest for glace cherries for your baking needs at £1-09, compared to £1-19 @ Aldi. Asda was £1-38 and both Tesco & Sainsbo's were £1-40.

£1.10 in Sainsbos. Have now taken to buying 6 pints FF which has gone up from £1.48 to £1.50.

FWIW Sainsbo's posted me two vouchers for before Chrimbo including £12 off £60 the week before Christmas.

To correct my earlier post - 6 pints of SEMI at ALDI is £1.48

    ASDA's 6 pint is the same £1.48 I believe

ICELAND do both Semi & FULL for £1.45

Has anyone tried the Newgate Baked Beans from Lidl? and how do the rate against Branston Baked Beans?

    NEGATIVE
Bought some of these last week.
Don't think I will bother again.
They were small and hard and not much taste,
    nothing like the Branston beans.
    POSITIVE
Strange how different tastes can be.
We always used to have Heinz beans.
When we discovered Lidl Newgate beans we thought they were much better!
far more beans, less liquid and tasted good!
at £1 for 4 tins can't go wrong

    I currently get Branston's for 30p a can - that's 3 for a £1 at Farmfoods - then save 10% with their £2.50 off a £25 spend coupon ...

[Christmas Ice Cream Bites from Aldi]

I finally got hold of the Marc de Champagne flavour, and they are delicious. They definitely need to be left to thaw slightly, and the flavour and texture are not as good straight from the freezer.

The Aldi Christmas wrapping paper is fantastic value.

Good choice of designs, some for kids, some more classic styles. A massive 12m for 99p, it's not thin or see through. Best of all it has the grid on the back so it is easy to cut straight.
