    Afternoon.

Last day of the school hols for the kids today, i'm back Tuesday.

Quiet day pottering today, few housie jobs completed and baked cakes, leg of lamb is in oven for tea, need to do potatoes and veg.

I need to do my to do list for the week ahead and see what going out bills wise and what else I can do to make a few pounds.

Shown DH how to use £bay and he has listed a couple of items, so hopefully that's the start of him getting rid of some stuff.

    Morning.

All quiet in the PWPS household as children have been shipped off to school.

Sat and done finances for the week and realised I had made a big booboo, I'd forgotten to account for DD tutorthis is £156 as I pay half termly and it needs paying today, so my budget is now £150 short for the month.

So plan for this is No1 do not buy any furniture yet for DS as I have £160 in that pot, No2 £bay, £bay £bay then hopefully I can rectify the mess and DS still gets furniture this month. As most bills don't go out of my account until the 20th or after I have 2 weeks to sort this.

I have made a to do list, tweaked meal plan and cut back where possible.

    To do list-

    Pay T£sco cc £194- done.
Write cheque for tutor, last one until September-done.
Take DS for haircut after schooldone
    Buy milk and only milk.done
    Post £bay parcel.
Pay £50 for DD school trip, another booboo as didn't think it was due until 18th, actually due the 1st so 4 days late.done.

    Meal plan -

Mon- stuffed chicken thighs, mash and broccoli/sweetcorn
    Tue- Spag bol.
Wed - Jkt potatoes beans and cheese.
Thurs-scrambled eggs, grilled toms/mushrooms on toast.
Fri - Beef casserole, mash and veg.

Fuel- I budget £25 a week, but I have half a tank left as didn't really go anywhere half term, so hoping I might only need to put in £10/£15 at end of week.

Packed lunches all week for us all and fingers crossed no other spends.

So fed-up, DH came home for lunch asked me what was wrong so tried to talk to him about money, which just ended up in a row, explained to him how i'd messed my budget up and things were tight, his answer was if you need money just ask. I tried to explain how I wanted an emergency fund and to pay off CC before kids start with driving lessons and university. His answer was if its an emergency we can just use CC. He just can't see it, we are not even on the same book never mind same page. He ended up agreeing to a £1000 emergency fund but I think it was just to shut me up. Had a text from him 10 mins ago did I want to go to ikea for DS furniture on Sunday, I swear if he had been in the house I would of killed him. I cannot get through to him, I've just got to keep going and wading through on my own.

I've decided next month no work on house, or new bits to save for. Aim to get that emergency fund. Living room needs painting I can do it in the holidays with what we have, curtains will do a bit longer and need a new rug as dog had an accident on it and it was totally ruined, can manage summer without rug but not winter as its too cold on wood floor, plenty of time to save for that.

When you have a tight budget, you can always guarantee something will throw a spanner in the works. Mine is usually the week before I get paid, I will have done really well and think I am nearly there and then I get hit with something.xx

What a nightmare with the big bill Pennywise, always the case isn't it. Im glad you've managed to get it to just a £10 shortfall. I hate arguing with the DH about money, they just don't seem to get it do they. I once told DH I would hand all the finances over to him.. that soon shut him up!!

Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today... unlike this miserable weather xx

    Morning.

Cup of tea and catch up before getting kids up and trying to get out of house on time.

Weather looks much brighter today, going to peg out today, hate using TD in summer and also hate having the airer stuck in the middle of dining room.

Banking checked and although it's squeaky close everything is on budget, please universe can I have a few sales on £bay to make things feel comfortable, thankyou.

No debt payments to be made today, really got to get this emergency fund going, so I can start overpaying, so much to do, so much debt and so little money. Think positive thoughts, can do this, can do this.

    Today's to do list-

    Packed lunches.
    Pack/post £bay parcels.
    photo/list £bay items, sort relists.
    TIDY DINING ROOM.
    Peg out.
    Ironing
    make mincemeat slice.

Tea tonight is just Jkt spuds, so nice and easy.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Few jobs done, still a few more to do though before bed.
Meal plan swapped around as had forgotten DS had a cricket match so needed to make a quick tea so had scrambled eggs instead of JKts.
Speaking of eggs the hens are laying like mad at the minute which is fantastic, will boil some later for tomorrows packed lunches.
Needed a couple of bits today from MrT,so emptied the change jar of 1p,2p and 5ps bought wraps and beans and used the self service checkout, glad it was quiet took ages to feed in £1.54 in mostly 1 and 2ps.
Driving like an old lady at the minute (no offence) trying to conserve petrol, fingers crossed that I can get to Friday before I need to put any fuel in.

    Hope everyone is ok.

Thanks for posting MTG and SA, dining room is tidy MTG .

Seem to have had a busy couple of days, just doing general jobs but definitely running around in circles.

Weather was awful yesterday, not only was TD on to dry clothes but woodburner was lit as well, I hope this isn't going to be how the summer continues.

Went grocery shopping yesterday and managed to spend £71 in A1di which seemed a huge amount considering I didn't buy any meat or alcohol, prices are creeping up. But I need to remember I'm feeding 4 adults now really and DS probably eats more that DH.

I have had a couple of small sales on £bay and did some listings yesterday. Tuesday CB hits account so i'm going to pay any bills that need paying whether they are due yet or not which will be about £200, have 2 DD that go out at the end of the month £65 and have £160 for the rest of the months groceries and £55 for fuel. Should then start on emergency pot, DS needs some bedroom furniture and garden needs finishing.

    Plans for today -
    sort out mount laundry,
    make a traybake,
list a couple of items of clothes on DH £bay account,
    sweep mop through downstairs.
    Visit DH relatives.

Meal plan for the week -

    Sun- Kievs, wedges and salad.
Mon - scrambles eggs, mushrooms, toms, toast.
Tue - Pork stirfry & noodles.
    WEd - Jkt spuds, beans/cheese.
    Thurs- sausage pasta bake.
    Fri - Cottage pie.

    Afternoon Pennywise,

Glad to hear youve tidied the dining room

£71 in Mr Al's , can you imagine how much it would have been in one of the other supermarkets though. Most I've spent so far is £44 (only been 4 times though ).

    Meal plan looks nice xx
