Prolific Academic - New Survey Alerts 23rd Dec 15 at 1:12 PM
Hi all, this is a thread dedicated to alerting everyone to new surveys appearing on the Prolific Academic site.

It's an interesting and well paid survey site, which also means they're popular and become fully subscribed very quickly!

I love the site, but find their own survey notifications a wee bit hit and miss and most of us don't have time to repeatedly check the site during the day on the off chance of finding available surveys. We won't all be eligible for the same surveys, but a quick 'heads up' when we do see one may make checking for surveys just a little bit more profitable and worthwhile for each other.

No rules, just subscribe and post when you see them to spread the joy!

Additionally, if you're planning on signing up to the site, please be sure to pop over to the referral thread to use someone else's link, before posting your own.

I returned the study as they wanted access to my Facebook. You haven't missed out.

Yep, it seems we are all experiencing the same issues. If it really is down to heavy usage, I think PA need to invest in a new brace of hamsters, or at least feed the ones they have.

AprilLady, you have no need whatsoever to apologise, really. If I can be the source of even the slightest amusement, I am a happy bunny. Please keep up the good work and I hope your efforts bring you what you want them to. I am always interested to know how you are getting on.

And yes, lots of amusement! Maybe they just need to poke the hamsters - perhaps they've fallen asleep or gone on strike?

OoooooooooK, not a stalker; believe it or don't, I do have better things to do. I was just trying to be polite, unlike whatever horrible person told you to stop complaining. I will admit this is the only thread I frequent these days, as I became a little fed up of the randoms' rudeness on some of the others, too.

To be honest I'm getting a bit fed up of rudeness on the internet in general! Why do people have to be so nasty these days? I suppose it's easy to hide behind the computer.
Anyway, here's to more niceness and amusement, and most importantly, more surveys!

It has been quiet on the study front today.

Prolific replied to my query about the 404 error messages:

Well that was odd. Started a study "Browse the web", read the instructions and decided it wasn't for me (you have to download a programme to take screenshots), so I clicked on "I disagree" to a question about whether you agreed to do the survey. It took me straight to a completion code! Obviously I have now returned the survey, and messaged the researcher to tell them. Odd mistake to make in the survey set up though. It would have been nice to get 2.10 for doing absolutely nothing (a man can dream, right?).
