Prolific Academic - New Survey Alerts 23rd Dec 15 at 1:12 PM
Hi all, this is a thread dedicated to alerting everyone to new surveys appearing on the Prolific Academic site.

It's an interesting and well paid survey site, which also means they're popular and become fully subscribed very quickly!

I love the site, but find their own survey notifications a wee bit hit and miss and most of us don't have time to repeatedly check the site during the day on the off chance of finding available surveys. We won't all be eligible for the same surveys, but a quick 'heads up' when we do see one may make checking for surveys just a little bit more profitable and worthwhile for each other.

No rules, just subscribe and post when you see them to spread the joy!

Additionally, if you're planning on signing up to the site, please be sure to pop over to the referral thread to use someone else's link, before posting your own.

It also took longer to do it than they were guesstimating, it was at 12 minutes by the time I did it instead of 8 so they should be paying a little bit more.

    1. 1 Second Everyday (1SE) - Male
    Available Places : 58/60
    Avg. Completion Time : 30mins
Avg. Reward Per Hour : £20.00/hr
    Maximum Allowed Time : 100mins
    Reward: £ 10.00

    "Study Description
We are researchers from the University of Warwick studying the effects of keeping a modern-day diary. We invite you to participate in our study which will require you to complete 5 surveys within the space of one month and use an app called 1 Second Everyday. The first survey is to be completed after you sign-up and the next four surveys are weekly follow-up surveys. You will be required to record a 1 second video everyday for a month using the app.

As part of this experiment, you are required to download the 1 Second Everyday (1SE) app. Therefore, to be eligible for this study, you have to own either an iPhone, iPad or Android phone/tablet. In order to receive the £5 reimbursement for the 1SE app purchase, you will be required to submit the online receipt (or a screenshot of your receipt) from your purchase at the end of the first survey. If you already have the app installed in your phone, then please submit a screenshot of the 1SE app on your phone in order to receive the reimbursement.

You will be paid £5 for completing the first survey and an additional £5 to cover the purchase of the app, £2 each time you take part in the three subsequent follow-up surveys – i.e. £2 x 3 = £6 in total (provided that you have successfully participated in the previous surveys that we sent you), and £13 for completing the final survey and recording a video for at least 80% of the days. In total, you will receive £29 for successfully completing all five surveys and having recorded 1 second videos for 80% of the days in a month"

There is a female version too, it says you have to pay £5 to buy the app but it was free for me on android. It sounds complicated but actually looks like it could be quite good fun!

How long does it usually take to go from pending to available? Most have been really quick (within 48 hours) but I have some from the 9th which still say awaiting review.

Hope I'm allowed to ask this here, sorry if not.

What is this life, if, sweet wordsmith, we have no time to take the pith?

Every stew starts with the first onion.

I took it upon myself to investigate a trifle; it had custard, jelly, soggy sponge things...

Has anyone done any of the 'tell us your goals' surveys? It seems you have to draw a plan, and I wondered what was involved before opting in.
