It was very wet & windy here yesterday from late afternoon
    - carrying on throughout the night. It was blowing quite a
hooley! Luckily I had just finished gardening when it
    started and quickly scuttled indoors.

It's a beautiful day now but still very windy - been out
shopping this morning and nearly got blown away!

I'm off to the hairdressers in a mo - will catch up later.

grow between 1-2 ft in length!

    Good morning lovely Alphabettys

I hope you're all well and raring to go on this thoughtful
    and wondrous Wednesday.

On the 7th June, people around the world will be helping raise
awareness about TS. You can too by supporting our online
    campaign.

Social media is an incredible tool of communication, and we want
to take full advantage of it's power for Tourettes Awareness day
    2017.

    TA twibbon

We are inviting people to change their social media profile picture
on 7th June to the Tourettes Action twibbon. Displaying the TA
twibbon will show your network that you support Tourettes
Awareness. We hope, with your encouragement, that people in
your network will change their profile picture too, so awareness
spreads beyond our immediate circles, potentially reaching tens, if
not hundreds of thousands of people. Lets dream big!

    #TSelfie

We are also supporting an international Tourettes awareness
    campaign called the #TSelfie.

To join this campaign you need to take a selfie with one eye
blinking (a common tic) and post your TSelfie on your social media
account on the 7th June using #TSelfie.

For example you could tweet or post on facebook or Instagram:
'This is my #TSelfie for more Tourettes awareness!' or 'Helping
spread #tourettes awareness' - and don't forget to attach your
picture! Ask your friends, family and colleagues to do the same
    thing!

We hope you join in with these campaigns and help us to put TS on
    the platform it deserves!

'We couldn't save our brother but we could save you'

"Two years before Miles died, all three of us brothers should've
    been tested..."

    – Wilfred Frost on the need for a UK wide testing service for
    Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

    ************

Miles Frost was a healthy 31-year-old when he went for a run and
collapsed as a result of an undiagnosed heart condition.
Unbeknownst to him, he had inherited the condition, Hypertrophic
cardiomyopathy (HCM), from his father, Sir David Frost.

Now, his brothers Wilfred and George have joined forces with the
British Heart Foundation to raise money for a UK wide testing
service for HCM to try and prevent what they call ‘needless
deaths’. The Miles Frost fund has raised over £800,000 so far
which will pay for research and testing across the country - with
the potential to save the lives of thousands of people.

    http://www.itv.com/thismorning/we-couldnt-save-our-brother-but-we-could-save-you

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) took Sir David Frost's son
without warning. But by supporting the Miles Frost Fund, you can
    help end the heartache.

    Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is an inherited disease of
your heart muscle, where the muscle wall of your heart becomes
    thickened.

HCM is a genetic condition caused by a change or mutation in one
or more genes and is passed on through families. Each child of
someone with HCM has a 50 per cent chance of inheriting the
    condition.

About 1 in 500 of the UK population has the condition, although
most people who have it have few, if any, symptoms.

    Good morning lovely Alphabettys

I hope you're all well and raring to go on this thoughtful,
    fun-filled and scrumdiddlyumptious Friday!

Transverse Myelitis Awareness Day is all about raising awareness
for this Neurological condition that can be extremely isolating.

Due to the number of people affected by TM, people suffering this
illness may never meet another person with this condition, or can
find that their own GP knows very little about it.

On 9th June every year the TM society runs it’s annual TM
awareness day to try to raise awareness and funds to help to
support people affected by Transverse Myelitis.

For more information on the TM Societies initiatives for 2017 and
how you can get involved in fundraising click here.
    * You can also
