The next chapter .... 24th Aug 15 at 2:17 PM
Hello and thanks for popping by; some of you may know me already, I've been here quite a while although not recently. Its a good time for me to return, things are starting to get sorted again in my personal life and I'm ready to start logging things here again to eep me on the straight and narrow.

I'll be honest, I'm not a dfw but I think of myself as one as I was a single parent for years, and am again now. I am pretty good with my money, I am an obsessive list-maker and I am a geek who enjoys all stuff financial

Over the next few days I will be getting my head round where my finances are currently, setting a few goals and getting ready to go back to work next week, (I work in a school so have been enjoying 6 weeks off ).

Today I have bagged up the contents of our penny jar (£130 ) which is split between me and Mr S (my lovely man, we have decided to split and he is moving out soon but we're hopeful we'll remain friends). I've also written a lovely long list of things I need to do before I go back to work next week, I've crossed several bits off already. I have also just put on the 9th and final load of washing wince we returned from camping at the weekend. Lots of ironing to look forward to there then

I'm off to my kettlebells class in a couple of hours then will carry on sorting out stuff tonight.

Please stick around and chip in whenever you like

Thanks Alison, yep the dog is fine now and his fur has grown loads already so he looks more like a puppy lab at the moment

I've made a chicken pasta bake for dinner using up the leftovers from yesterdays roast. There will be tonnes leftover - I'm not very good at reheating stuff, can anyone help please; I roasted the chicken yesterday and have put the leftovers in the pasta bake. Will the leftovers be okay if I nuke it in the microwave tomorrow?

I have done my nieces birthday present and have also done the work email. Today I'm doing christmas fair stuff, (ds has gone to his Dads this morning), it does mean I miss watching Bournemouth on sky later, (I have recorded it to watch tonight). We have so much stuff to get done though it's scary

Very happy with a draw against Tottenham

Yesterday we got loads done for the fair, although our to-do list seems to get longer and longer

Today ds is coming back at about 3, I need to do some housework / washing etc today, maybe a food order too.

I also might pop to Homebase at some point, I saw yesterday they ad small xmas trees - don't shoot me, I know its only October, but they were in a pot for £10 and are the right size to go outside my front door (hard finding ones that aren't too big normally as I only have a little space).

Hmm, I seem to have found my house cleaning mojo this morning - washing machine is on, kitchen is clean and sparkly, bathroom is sparkling too, bed made, clean washing put away, all stuff that was out has been put away, just need to dust my bedroom and the lounge then hoover through a bit later. I may tackle ds bedroom with him a bit later

Thanks Florence, I do have a week off now though so the more jobs I can get out the way at the start of the week then the more I can enjoy it later in the week

I ended up going out and mooching around a few shops - I did the food shopping (£56) and bought petrol (£41), I also spent £5 in poundland and finally popped into Ikea and spent £5.50 on a gingerbread house and a tin of gingerbread thins

Then I walked the dog, collected ds, came home and fell asleep on the sofa while the footie was on. Dinner is nearly ready (salmon) then it will be bath-time and a chilling evening I reckon

I have made ds move his computer into the lounge and the new house rule is that he is not to have any tech stuff in his bedroom, so his x-box (when he earns it back) and his phone (again when he earns it back) will remain in the lounge. I will have to fight my urge to tidy them away constantly

Just done the end of month banking round-up and I have overspent by £110 already (payday not until Monday). I have spent about £80 on ds xmas presents this month though so that's most of it accounted for. I need to look to make a few more pennies before the end of the month ...

So I went round to get Mum to go food shopping and she still hasn't shifted her cold (4 weeks) so I took her to the doctors and she got some antibiotics. Took 2 hours in total. I now have a shopping list that I will order online for her instead.

I think I'll have my bath in a bit, do my eyebrows etc then I can chill tonight and watch Bake off and Grand Designs

I'm going to clear my surveys again this afternoon too, they seem to be never ending!

Car has been cleaned inside and out, have been to Mums and changed her bed, tidied the kitchen, sorted the rubbish, hoovered through and come home with a blue Ikea bag full of washing (she has a chest infection at the moment and is hardly getting out of bed). I have also found a shoebox so am ready to cover that and fill. I did the ironing before I went out, so am doing a fairly good jo on my list so far today

Morning all, another weekend rolls around, we only have a month until the Christmas fair so this weekend will be filled with stuff for that again. I am really looking forward to it but will also be so pleased once its over with

Luckily the flat is pretty clean and tidy as I had a viewing on thursday, just the usual washing / ironing etc to get done.

I will also try and fit in clearing my surveys, sorting out a tesco food order and hopefully celebrating picking up 3 points today in the footie
