New Diarist - Attacking the Banks! 13th Mar 15 at 12:18 PM
    Hi all,
I've knocked about a bit off and on for the last few years and a bit more heavily in the last 4 months. I've threatened a diary, but also found an excuse not to. Excuses are now fully exhausted so here goes. Remortgage complete, which i'll detail later, bank accounts organised (again i'll discuss later), spreadsheets plentiful and i'm learning on the go with these.

Overall goal - pay off in 10 years, so 120 payments
Dream goal - pay off in 8 years, so 96 payment

    Targets
March 2015 - Balance at start of diary - £136,000
    • Feb 2017 - End of Yr 2 Balance £109,000 (£27k reduction since diary began) - Actual £110,520 (£25.5k reduction since diary began)
    • June 2017 - £106,500 - Actual £106,378 (£122 ahead)
    • July 2017 - £105,400
    • Aug 2017 - £104,300
    • Sept 2017 - £103,200
    • Oct 2017 - £102,100
    • Nov 2017 - £101,000
    • Dec 2017 - £99,999
    • Jan 2018 - £98,700
    • Feb 2018 - End of Yr 3 Balance - £97,500 (£38,500 reduction during diary & MFW journey)

Well flooring finally done in hall, so apart from tidying up we're done for 2017, yay!! It looks great and Mrs SJ is made up and likes our house again. Been off today so have got decorations out the loft and built the tree ready for Mrs SJ to dress it with the boys tonight.

I've managed to do financial this afternoon so will post in next 10 mins. We didn't quite OP as much as id hoped but still an impressive amount.

    November Accounts
This was our worst overpayment month for 2016 which is slightly disappointing, but with lots of house work going it hardly surprising. Still i am very pleased with progress, though not pleased with my lack of postings and diary readings!!

    Highlights
    Closing Balance - £113,533.22
    Total OP's - £505.17
    Net Reduction - £1,005.09
    Daily Interest - £6.19 (5p reduction)
    LTV - 51.37%

In other money news i've hit the £1k profit mark on matched betting. I have no idea what to do with the money though!!

Hi SJ, hope you had a good Christmas and new year. I've been reading your diary over the last few months and only caught up now! It inspired me to finally make my own, especially those 1p TT! It is the TT that keep me going to be honest. You've done so well so far, keep it up

Well I'm returning! Renewed, refreshed and reinvigorated...!

Without making excuses Miss Baby SJ has been more time consuming than i imagined...Well that and DS2 starting school as well. Anyway we seem on an even keel again, so i'm hoping to pick up this diary again.

As a snapshot i've still been OPing and we now stand at a balance of £107k. We remortgaged to 1.64% fix for 2yrs and our daily interest is now approx £4.70. We remain on course for MF in 7-8yrs, u less we can have some late acceleration and we may sneak in at 6-7.

Anyway there i've done it and logged in and posted for the first time since 1st December 2016... So now i'll crack on with updating my signature, setting some new targets and hopefully posting some figures in the 3yr thread that i've also neglected.

I'm sure none of you have really missed by ramblings, but it feels good to be back...!

Oh and i will be catching up everyone else diaries!
