The Good Morning Thread 5th Apr 14 at 6:17 AM
Well, we've got a goodnight thread so let's have a good morning one as well.

    Good morning everybody
Me and the dog have had our morning constitutional and shortly I shall be venturing forth to the big Tesco to do my fortnightly shop. When I get home I've got 3 hours work related admin and paperwork to do

The weather here is a bit nippy but at least there's no fog.

Aww I thought it was funny.

Dentistry has moved on significantly over the years, the days where dentists used to have patients in pain just doesn't happen anymore.

They also seem to do a lot less work on teeth than they used to.

Anxiety towards dentists nowadays stems from parents anxiety

I WAS 5!!

I come by my fears honestly!

That said - you are right - it was funny and dentistry has improved massively!

And she wasn't a softy, she was a " pull your socks up" type!

Anyway, that could well have been the start of a phobia for me, but my mother found a dentist who specialised in children. He was lovely. On the first visit, all he did was let me sit in the chair and play with his 'toys' - various (safe) bits of equipment. He let me start the drill, and fiddle with things, and I got a badge etc.

Then the next appointment, soon after, had another little play and then he did the (very gentle) examination.
I did have several fillings over the next few years, (these were the days before fluoride treatments and even before dental floss!), and six-monthly check-ups, but have absolutely no recollection of ever being scared again.

    Lovely man!

    Back now!

Didn't have the filling I needed because I was having issues with the previous filling

Still had the anaesthetic though! Although the dentist let me listen to my tunes whilst he was drilling

Good Morning folks - off to Tesco in a bit, I feel like a salad later on and also need to buy more fruit now that I'm down to one banana left.

I'm not buying bananas, though, I want some apples, grapes, perhaps some blackberries.

I bought some Cox's apples, (of which I have just eaten one - lovely) a mixed salad bowl, some plum tomatoes, black grapes, yogurt, a pizza, bread, some roast beef slices, horseradish sauce, green beans, broccoli and some beanburgers.

My back was hurting like mad on the way back, though; I can empathise with Mrs. Bones.
