This is it *ping* lightbulb!!! 24th Mar 14 at 4:43 PM
    Hi all

Been a member of this forum for a while, I thought I had had my lighbulb moment in the past but clearly I had not!!!

We (OH and I) have nearly 44k of debt not inc our mortgage

We have two gorgeous little ones and I am sick of having no money for them to do things (son is old enough to start swimming lessons now and I really want him to be able to do things like that)

We were all depressed about the figure and wondering how on earth we were going to pay it off, thinking it was going to take 10 years +

I spent all of yesterday ringing the credit card companies and getting the APRs for my accounts, then we snowballed it
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
And to my MASSIVE suprise, if we can scrape even just £20 from somewhere in the budget and snowball the way the calc tells us we will be debt free in 4.5 years!!!!

That has made me and OH feel even more positive about it all!

I will try and not bore you all with my diary ... but it prob will be lol

We sent some things to music magpie yesterday, they said they will pay £62 for them, now I just hope they pass their checks and we get the £62 (they should do)

And we have some things on ebay due to end in 6 days.

    Heres to being debt free

Well I have had the most boring day at work ever!!! All the systems are down and have been since before I came in at 8am, I am soooooo bored, there is literally nothing we can do with no system!

OH has some things to stick on ebay, so I need to do that at some point this week.might stick them on on thursday for 10 days so they end on sunday night. Just need to sort the descriptions out.

I have a lovely homemade curry in the slow cooker today, can't wait to get home and have that for my tea.

I hope everyone has had a good day xx

    Morning all,

    How is everyone doing?

Half term here, it's freezing today!!!! So icy!!!! kids are just chilling out at the minute, I need to do a ton of washing (where did it all come from!!) and housework to do (I've done upstairs just need to do downstairs)

We have our new shed coming today (I am nervous, I hate accepting deliveries) I am excited for it being built, it's for the kids bikes, scooters, outside toys etc, we need to shuffle the yard around when it's built as I want it to go where my greenhouse currently is, and my greenhouse moving closer to the house.

I really need to get in the greenhouse and sort through all the pots etc from last year, and we need to get chopping away at the roots at the side of the house from where we cut trees down, as that is where I am going to be growing my potatoes, melons and strawberries

Had to order the kids new school shoes, I had bought one of clarks foot measuring devices and both kids were a whole size bigger, oops, so they came this week, need to check the fit before I get rid of the boxes etc.

Going to get OH to take photos of the things he wants to list on ebay, we need to get them on this weekend really

I hope everyone has a good day xx

    Hi,

Hope you are ok, and the shed arrived safely. I will start to catch up with your diary slowly. I have read the first page and saw your original posts. Looks like you are tackling it all.

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that it is a slow and steady approach. x

That's exactly it, I was feeling guilty last week cos it hadn't gone down as fast, but stuff had to be done to the house for everyone's sanity, it was getting to us really badly etc, so to me that makes it worth it

I know we are in for the long haul and I feel very positive

The shed did come thank OH and FIL are going to build it tomorrow afternoon, so I need to get a photo of the yard cos I want before and after pics lol xx

    Morning all

Can't believe it's the last day of half term!!!

OH has gone to work but will be back at lunch time as him and FIL are going to move the greenhouse and build the shed, I need to get out there and take things out the greenhouse.

First me and the kids are going to the local shops to get some chocolates and a card for my brothers birthday as they are coming round to see us tomorrow (money comes out of the christmas/birthday savings which we put £100 a month away for)

I've done my online shop to come on sunday, and this weeks menu looks like this

Sunday - Gammon Steaks, Chips and peas
Monday - Slow cooker chicken curry
    Tuesday - Slow Cooker chilli
Wednesday - Slow cooker sweet and sour chicken
Thursday - Beef Stew with Asparagus
    Friday - Chicken Satay
Saturday - Home made sausage rolls, chips and beans

For my lunches at work I am trying big mac in bowl, and on my off days I will have omlette or soup from the freezer

Have a good day, I better crack on xx

    Afternoon all

Meh I am in a funk today I feel really low and tired, I can't wait for home time from work!!

I was super productive on sunday, the tea's for mon-wed are all slow cooker ones, so yesterday I chopped all the veg that I need for the three teas (chicken curry, chill, sweet and sour) and put them in clip lock boxes in the fridge (it really keeps them fresh still) so all I have to do in the morning is add them to the slow cooker with the meat and the spices/sauces that I need to use. Makes it a bit less stressful in the morning getting the tea ready and then the kids dressed and breakfasts done etc

18 Days till me and OH go to London!!! getting excited about the break away now tbh, I will be dying to see the kids by the time we get back, I've told them I will bring them back something from the M+M shop

Need to get my mam something for mother's day, something extra by a little bit as she has the kids on mothers day as we are away (didn't realise it was mothers day at the time)

Have a good day all xx
