This is it *ping* lightbulb!!! 24th Mar 14 at 4:43 PM
    Hi all

Been a member of this forum for a while, I thought I had had my lighbulb moment in the past but clearly I had not!!!

We (OH and I) have nearly 44k of debt not inc our mortgage

We have two gorgeous little ones and I am sick of having no money for them to do things (son is old enough to start swimming lessons now and I really want him to be able to do things like that)

We were all depressed about the figure and wondering how on earth we were going to pay it off, thinking it was going to take 10 years +

I spent all of yesterday ringing the credit card companies and getting the APRs for my accounts, then we snowballed it
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
And to my MASSIVE suprise, if we can scrape even just £20 from somewhere in the budget and snowball the way the calc tells us we will be debt free in 4.5 years!!!!

That has made me and OH feel even more positive about it all!

I will try and not bore you all with my diary ... but it prob will be lol

We sent some things to music magpie yesterday, they said they will pay £62 for them, now I just hope they pass their checks and we get the £62 (they should do)

And we have some things on ebay due to end in 6 days.

    Heres to being debt free

    Done my meal plan

    This week we are having:
Sunday - Chicken, Mash Potato, Roast Potato, Peas, Broccoli, Green Beand and Parsnips, with Syn free gravy
    Monday - Spaghetti Bolognese
Tuesday - Fish, Chips and Peas (10.5 syns but the fish is oh so worth it)
Wednesday - Chicken cooked in Nando's Lemon and Herb Sauce with rice
Thursday - Sausage, Mash and Peas
Friday - Diet coke chicken and rice
Saturday - Bacon, egg, chips and beans

    Can't wait lol

Now to do the shopping, it's gonna be an expensive one tomorrow cos we seem to have run out of/running out of every toiletry going! Don't know how I let that happen!!

I hope everyone has had a good day

I am shattered now lol!! Been chopping veg for 2 hours lol

Made the syn free gravy (basically potato, carrot, and onion cooked in water, then you add stock pots and gravy browning and blitz, it's really nice!!) It's classed as a small tweak but meh lol

Then prepared all the veg for an epic sunday dinner, then prepared the veg for spag bol for tomorrow night's tea, then made mine and OH's breakfast for tomorrow (just strawberries in yogurt)

DD has a party in half an hour, so once we are home from that the kids need to do their homework, then its sunday dinner time (I can't wait lol)

Hope everyone is having a good day xx

Hello everyone, sorry for lack of updates, I have been so so so so poorly, I had flu and felt like I was dying for like 7 days!! I am still 2 weeks later having trouble with my sinuses, so I have bought a nose spray thing cos nothing else is helping, and my cheeks are in so much pain.

    How is everyone doing?

We have ordered our Christmas food from M+S, not very MSE I know but I love Christmas Day and I go a bit mental we have ordered their turkey gravy and beef gravy, a turkey crown, a venison joint with plum and sloe gin stuffing, pork and caramelized onion stuffing balls wrapped in bacon, and pigs in blankets, and then for pudding raspeberry and prosecco panna cotta terrine, and macaroons
I will get the rest of the dinner from asda (so stuff for mash, and roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings, broccoli, sprouts, parsnips etc)

And I have done 80% of my christmas shopping yay!!! I need to get some things for hampers that I am doing, then I need to start wrapping, I need to check if I have enough paper left from last year or not

Plodding along with the debt, just paying minimums at the min.

I am off to Leeds for the night on friday to see Michael Malarkey in concert (he played Enzo in the vampire diaries if you watched that) he has a lush singing voice and his new album just came out.

Hanson's new christmas album comes out on friday, I am soooooooo excited about that, been waiting 20 years for another one

I am currently cooking gammon for tomorrow night's tea, and tonight we are having chicken jambalaya, I love it!!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend xx

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well.

I am feeling bad, I've let the money slip a bit it's all over the place at the min, which isn't like me at all. Nevermind, onwards and upwards, I am just gonna stumble on by and hit it hard again in the new year, my mind isn't able to figure it out right now, OH is still having MH issues, so that's my main focus (after the kids of course)

I will be back in full force from Jan I have decided to stop saving for holiday and use that money to overpay, cos when I wasn't overpaying (as the cards were getting enough imo in DD's) it just didn't sit right in my head. So I need to start doing that again, but again will be from Jan, dec is gonna be expensive as it is for everyone lol we have our m+s food order to pay for and me and OH are away to manchester for the night to the Hanson christmas concert (everything is paid for, trains, tickets, hotel and breakfast at the hotel, so it's just spending money we need for the day/night)

I will still be popping in but there won't be any financial successes till new year

Have a good day all xx

Good evening everyone, how are you all doing, I cannot believe it is 19 sleeps till Christmas!!!
We have 100% finished Christmas shopping, we splurged on Black Friday on a Nintendo switch for the family, the kids are going to be so excited.

Pleased to report I hit my £10,000 target for this year and I plan on setting next years for £12,000

It is my work Christmas Do on Friday night, a three course meal and disco, the meal is paid for, and OH is taking me and picking me up so just need drink money, I only plan on having a few, because DD starts swimming on sat (same time as DS) I'm gonna feel rich when I'm not paying £140 every four weeks for swimming lol, and I need to pack my bags cos OH and I go to Manchester on Sunday for a Hanson Christmas Concert (woo hoo) again hotel and train and breakfast paid for so just need spending money, and mil just gave me £50 to get some merch for myself for Christmas from her

Another artist I love is Taylor swift and I've been lucky enough to get tickets to see her next June at Wembley yay

And also DS mentioned gangsta granny was coming to the theatre so I've got tickets for us all for that next May

And we've just bought our panto tickets for Christmas 2018!! It's been an expensive month lol

I hope you are all well xx
