This is it *ping* lightbulb!!! 24th Mar 14 at 4:43 PM
    Hi all

Been a member of this forum for a while, I thought I had had my lighbulb moment in the past but clearly I had not!!!

We (OH and I) have nearly 44k of debt not inc our mortgage

We have two gorgeous little ones and I am sick of having no money for them to do things (son is old enough to start swimming lessons now and I really want him to be able to do things like that)

We were all depressed about the figure and wondering how on earth we were going to pay it off, thinking it was going to take 10 years +

I spent all of yesterday ringing the credit card companies and getting the APRs for my accounts, then we snowballed it
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
And to my MASSIVE suprise, if we can scrape even just £20 from somewhere in the budget and snowball the way the calc tells us we will be debt free in 4.5 years!!!!

That has made me and OH feel even more positive about it all!

I will try and not bore you all with my diary ... but it prob will be lol

We sent some things to music magpie yesterday, they said they will pay £62 for them, now I just hope they pass their checks and we get the £62 (they should do)

And we have some things on ebay due to end in 6 days.

    Heres to being debt free

    Hello everyone

    How are we all doing?

I listened to Hanson for the first time yesterday since my friend passed away (we are both massive Hanson fans, we met in the queue for a Hanson gig in 2003 and have been best friends ever since, every time Hanson toured we would go to them all, and I mean them all, travelling from Dublin to Glasgow, to Newcastle, to Manchester, to Birmingham to London to Paris, even to Miami and New York, we've seen Hanson over 20 times live together) so listening to Hanson brings back so many memories.

It was nice listening to the music though, I felt sad at times, but all I could think about was the happy times we had had together, the only sad part is that she isn't here anymore. Hanson are announcing a world tour in March, that tour is going to be hard

Is everyone doing ok with the debt busting?

I haven't overpaid half as much as I wanted to this month, but we've had an expensive one really.

I go to London on friday for the walking dead convention, I am excited! Can't believe I am going to meet all the big stars!

Just got all my statements in for Feb and in the month of Feb we have paid off another £602.15 off the debt and £251.00 off the mortgage whoop whoop

Just waiting for @sda to come at 9, then DS has swimming later on, other than that it will be a chill day, the weather is awful.

Have a good day all xx

    Good afternoon everyone

I am back from the MOST AMAZING WEEKEND EVER!!!!! The walker Stalker Convention was just utterly amazing!

I had so much fun meeting them all, I will post my pics in a few days (need to get them onto my laptop)

I was on a proper downer on the way to the hotel from it on sunday, so then on monday when I was on my way home I text my partner and asked if he wanted to go with me next year and he said yes!!!! EEK!!!! Tickets go on sale on the 18th march, so I will buy them, then save £50 a month which will give us £600 spending money xx

I feel so sad that I am not there anymore meeting all the lovely people again, I am trying to pull myself out of it, as it's silly I know, especially as me and OH are planning to go back next year.

I have one of those terramundi jars (that we were given when I was pregnant with my son which has never been used) and I've decided to put £50 a month in it (at least, might chuck spare change into it as well) then me and OH will have at least £600 spends (if the savings all go to plan) I have the money already to buy the tickets for the convention (which go on sale next sat), so it's just spends and hotel I need to save for. I was going to just transfer it to one of the online savings accounts we have but then I didn't want to as it's too easy to take back out if we are short one month, and I don't want us to be left with no spending money, so if something did crop up it would force me to have a rethink.

Not much planned today, waiting for @sda to come right now, think I've got a little bit to overpay, will need to see when it comes.

And DS as swimming lesson this afternoon, need to get my daughters name down for lessons, but I need to wait till after our hols in June as we can't pull another £75 a month out of the money till after June (well we could but it would mean barely overpaying which I don't want, whereas after June we can as we won't be putting savings away from CP anymore)

And two of the cards are due to lose their 0% in July and Aug, one of our old cards has sent us a 0% offer which runs out end of April, so I know it's earlier than needs to be but think I will BT those two cards over to it near the end of April (just incase we don't get offered another one closer to the time)

Have a good day all xx

Also I think OH is due a Payrise from 01/04/17, as he was promoted last year and therefore moved to the bottom of his new pay scale whereas he was at the top of the old one so just received the minimum increase of (I think( 1%

I have a payrise coming in end of July wage of about £20 a month after tax, so that will be helpful as well xx

    Thank you purple xx

How is everyone on this sunny sunday. The weather is so nice here! I think I might be able to actually get the washing out on the line, makes sense to seeing as my heating is off (as the house is wam enough) so they certainly won't dry on the radiators lol

Not much going on here, I had a terrible sleep (came back from the convention with a cold, it's now at tickly cough stage which is driving me mad)

DS needs to do his homework, both kids need a bath, and other than prepping sunday dinner and a little tidy there isn't much to be done. Might get a chance to finish loom knitting OH's hat

Have a good day all xx
