This is it *ping* lightbulb!!! 24th Mar 14 at 4:43 PM
    Hi all

Been a member of this forum for a while, I thought I had had my lighbulb moment in the past but clearly I had not!!!

We (OH and I) have nearly 44k of debt not inc our mortgage

We have two gorgeous little ones and I am sick of having no money for them to do things (son is old enough to start swimming lessons now and I really want him to be able to do things like that)

We were all depressed about the figure and wondering how on earth we were going to pay it off, thinking it was going to take 10 years +

I spent all of yesterday ringing the credit card companies and getting the APRs for my accounts, then we snowballed it
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
And to my MASSIVE suprise, if we can scrape even just £20 from somewhere in the budget and snowball the way the calc tells us we will be debt free in 4.5 years!!!!

That has made me and OH feel even more positive about it all!

I will try and not bore you all with my diary ... but it prob will be lol

We sent some things to music magpie yesterday, they said they will pay £62 for them, now I just hope they pass their checks and we get the £62 (they should do)

And we have some things on ebay due to end in 6 days.

    Heres to being debt free

    Hi koag,
Glad to see how well you're doing! Also brilliant news about centreparcs...that'll be a nice incentive to keep focused and save up the spends over the year so you can have a lovely time xx

    Hey all

My baby started preschool today!!!!! How is my baby old enough for preschool already!!!

She went for an hour today with me, she was due to go for an hour on her own tomorrow then her normal 3 hours on her own on friday, but as soon as we got there today she just went off and played, wasn't even bothered if I was there or not lol, so the teacher has said she can start her 3 hours from tomorrow if I want, which I have decided to do.

She cried when we left cos she didn't want to leave

It's gonna be weird, for the last 6.5 years the kids have been with me 24/7 (except when I am at work) so it's def going to be weird them both not being here!!!

Time needs to slow down lol xx

    Thanks Monz

It went super well, she loves it, no tears at all about going, she just runs into the classroom and sits on the carpet for registration and waves goodbye, bless her, I now have 2 days a week where I have no children to look after for 2 hours a day, I should be doing housework but so far in the four days that I have had 2 hours I've sat and watched the tv lol, in my defence 2 of the days I was loaded with cold, I felt super ill.

Not much going on with the money plodding along, paying the minimums etc, I think I will stop overpaying till new year now, as christmas is coming soon and I haven't done as many survey's as I wanted.

I am off to London in March to a walking dead convention, I am SOOOOOOOO excited, the two main people I want to see have been confirmed as going, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who plays Negan) is the one I am most excited about I have loved him for years, he was John Winchester in Supernatural and Denny Duquette in Grey's Anatomy, and Norman Reedus who is Daryll in the walking dead are the two I want to meet the most (most of the cast has been announced as going, except andrew lincoln but he apparantly doesn't confirm attendance till nearer the time) Anyway, Photo ops are on sale a week today, apparently Norman Reedus sold out in 30 seconds last year so I've got to be quick to get them, and JDM and NR are the most popular so everyone is going to be going for them, so fingers crossed I manage to get them next week xx

    Wooooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooooo
I managed to get photo ops for Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Norman Reedus!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!

Can't wait to meet these beautiful men

Need to contain my excitement till March

In other news my son got his 5 metre badge in swimming yesterday woooo hooooo! He's doing so so awesome since we switched his classes, he has only been going for 12 weeks.

Started savings for centre parcs this month, gonna put £50 a month away and that should give us enough for activities and food when we are there, the holiday itself is already paid for

Made my final payment on my washer this month too woooo - hooooo (lots of woo hoo's in the post lol)

My daughter is still loving nursery so that's good

I changed my gas and electric to a cheaper tariff but still within the same company, I am very happy with EDF so I am staying with them, it will be £300 cheaper a year apparantly and it's our first winter with the new boiler as well

Got a beef hotpot in the slow cooker (first time I've made it so I am hoping it's nice as it is tea today and tomorrow lol)

Kids are at a party this afternoon, not sure they are getting fed or not, if not they can have something from the freezer (don't think they would eat hot pot)

Have a good day all xx

Really exciting updates Love that your little girl loves nursery, and that your little boy is doing so well at swimming. I think you're entitled to take some time out with the tv anyway after years of being full time busy!
Also loving your 'woo hoo's'.....hope there are many more to come xx

    Thanks giblet

She totally loves it bless her cottons! and my son is so proud of himself

    How are things with you?

I am in a super good today, been working on tidying kitchen all week, you know the dreaded sorting of cupboards etc, well it's nearly 100% done, need to do the cooker and that's it really once I have finished the baking cupboard.

Then I plan on the cupboard above the stairs as that is where I like to put the christmas presents, I plan on wrapping them as they arrive while the kids are at school/nursery, and not leave it to the last minute lol

Then the plan is to have a sort of the kids toys while they are at school/nursery

I have 10 weeks ish before christmas to get it done

I am making a chicken sunday dinner today, not had one in ages, and am really looking forward to it, going to attempt roast potatoes in the acti fry, not tried them in that yet, but have been reading online and loads of people seem to have had good results

Have a good day all xx

Wow it's been TOO Long since I posted on here!!!

Thinks are still going well here, pleased that we have paid just over £4000 off the debt this year (will be about £5000 by new year's eve). I will try harder to pay more next year though as I want it to go faster than that!!!

Getting all ready for christmas, nearly got everything in just waiting for black friday to see if they reduce the perfume and some lego dimensions sets that I am after, I have been wrapping while kids are at nursery/school so I am ahead of the game there lol

MY friend recommended me to a PPI company so she would get a £20 voucher for recommending me, I didn't think I had ever had PPI, so just did so she could get the voucher, anyway, turns out CP1 added it to my account without my knowledge, and I've had a payment of £55 from them (better than nothing lol) and York$hire Bank also had PPI on my loan and CC I had back in 2000 ish so I am waiting to hear from YB, but the upshot of that is I have referred people (mam, Aunty etc) so I have already had £60 amazon voucher from the company, and I am waiting for payment for 3 more referrals so another £60 vouchers AND once you refer 5 you get a bonus of £50, so I am waiting for £110 in vouchers from them woo hoo, I am hoping they are here before black friday but if they aren't it's not the end of the world as I will use them for the kids birthday's (March and April)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope everyone is well.

Loads of drama going on here! Had to take an overdraft out for The car repairs, then on Monday night there was a massive storm and loads of rain was coming in above our patio door, have to say it broke me down into tears, I was prior to that feeling awesome cos most the Christmas shopping was done, and it meant we could have a nice December with treats on the shopping, even perhaps a meal out, so for the rain to come pouring in on Monday it just broke me.

OH took the Tuesday off for and him and his dad spent hours fixing it, and they see, to have fixed it for now, but we will at some point next year need to budget in for a new lintel above our patio doors.

Then when I got home from work on the Tuesday night I had a letter from York@hire back and they agree I was miss sold PPI, so I am going to be getting a cheque in the post in the next 28 days! My amount after taxes etc is £620. I could have cried with relief, someone was watching over me that's for sure, which means we will start 2017 on an even keel and not having to try and pay back the overdraft from the tyres etc

I finished off my Christmas shopping today and I've got 99% of it wrapped as well, I will do the rest this week when DD is at nursery and DS at school

I also had a Christmas splurge and got a company in today to clean my oven, was £40, and was the best £40 I've spent lol

I hope everyone is having a good day xx
