I drove it home and my Lovely drove her car home.

I have a chauffeur's cap that I used for MFT's wedding when I drove the Money Pit. I can lend that to Des for the evening.

    Hello!
Fruity, I'm not sure if the leaky boot has moved or not - but I do know he's still there near the sea front!
Surrounded by protective railings, coz he's been badly vandalised a few times over the years. Remade once at least IIRC.

I avoid Clee like the plague in season (Mabo & Skeg too, it's not prejudice) and only get as close as Hewitts Circus where the big T is.
It's the holidaymakers ........ the busy crush and the overwhelming Eau De Suntan-oil mixed with I would rather not say what; turns my stomach. That and you can't get anything done because they dawdle along and get in the way. Inconsiderate lot!

Stitch-free? And an improved Beast without bankruptcy?
AND tea & cakes .......... sounds like things are going well.

Oh and that snow plough ...... No good here, we never get enough snow.
Well almost never. (I may consider adapting it into a sand mover.)

Loving the talking dog Tips - though I'm not too sure about you & Fruity sharing arms to drive The Beast.
If it ever happens give me advanced notice ......... I will arrange a holiday abroad.

    Enjoy your wine.
I may join you - from a distance.
And as you say, it IS Friday.

There are only two places I know in Lincs, Stamford where my BIL lives, and Skeggy.

Josephine needs to get her strength, I understand that.

    AarghhH!

The forum gremlins are at it again, eh?
Is it a plot to thin out contributors?
I said just a few days ago that I find myself posting less and less; this is one reason why.
So, Penitent, I know what you mean.

I hope your MAR is OK Fruity?
You have my sympathies for this too - my father has regular-ish TIA's & my mum is so dementia-stricken that TBH she has very little capacity for anything much.
And I am 300 miles away - but my sister is near, for which I am very grateful.

I hope you continue to improve?

Tips, I visited Skeg today (and this was probably the last time until October; end of "season") just for an amble and top-up shop.
And it has been a warm if grey at times day; the drizzle held off until after we returned (bonus!).

There are lots of great beaches without needing to visit the main places - and we have a few nearby. A mile walk from our front door is a lovely beach.

I try to avoid the south of the county. South of Boston that is, so I haven't visited Stamford in quite a while.
    The reason is simple.
Navigating Boston during daylight (& especially business hours) is an absolute nightmare.
Once a bypass is built things will be better but there is only one road through town.
    Result = chaos.

Have you decided what to cook yet Tips?

    Good evening all.
Fruity I hope things are OK.
So much worry, I do feel for you.

The Last Username I do rather like Stamford. There is a very large supermarket on the outskirts, I think I recall.
I cooked steak and it was horrible. The neighbours dog got a treat.
More and more I am going off meat.
More and more I am choosing Halloumi cheese.
    Have a lovely evening folks.

Another dull and windy day by here today.

R Mar didn't appear to be any different to normal so I don't think there is anything more to worry about than normal.

She was her usual self, a mixture of lucid moments and periods of confusion and repetition. She has survived bowel cancer, several strokes and TIAs, a heart attack, and pneumonia, and we wonder how she is still with us. She will be 91 next month.

I am recovering nicely. The DVLA say I can drive again in a month's time so I just need to let my insurer know about the bionic implant now.
Then there's travel insurance to sort out ...

I only ever visited Skeggy a few times, but I remember the ads on the buses for it when I was a kid. Skegness is so bracing. Days out to the seaside for us was a short trip to Clee, or sometimes Humberstone, fishing off the North Wall in Grimsby, or watching the big ships dock at Immingham.

Although I live near the sea now, I prefer the countryside, although when I get back into my walking regime I plan a couple of walks along various parts of the Atlantic coast.

Posts and threads disappearing. Nothing new there but it is frustration when you don't know why. I shall just have to keep my head down and try not to be contentious. Due you think a thread about string would be too racy?
