Is this a toned-down version of what it used to be like? No wonder it was illegal in France until a recent-ish European law which permitted the sale of it again.

Distillation of wormwood can increase the thujone concentration, which can be toxic in certain quantities, I believe.

I've never tried it, nor am ever likely to, as I dislike aniseed-flavoured drinks (even thought I do like aniseed sweets!).

I've tried the modern version of absinthe, but didn't like it at all.

I'll stick to drinking 95% water.

I got a cheque in the post this morning. Trying to think of something nice i can do to treat myself, i don't want to let it go to my head and waste it.
So suggestions what to do with my 10p !!!!
It's cost more than that to send it !!! .... If i didn't have my bus pass, it would cost me more than that to take it to the bank. Although i can't even do that 'cos the buses are on strike again today.

Hey Fruity! How are you now? my dad has the same fitted, he had 5 bypasses 26 years ago but as with everything age takes its toll and he had the pacemaker/defibrillator, he has a few other problems (like me as a son) but it has done him very well for the last decade (new batteries changed out etc etc)

I am on nights much less than I used to be, so apologies for not saying hi to everyone last time, but it is very nice to see the old faces and some new ones on here.

Back in the motherland of Lancashire again now, close enough to Mancunia to be able to shop but far enough away to feel relaxed
I would like to live in Theory, because everything works there

The device is working well so I am told, even though I don't feel all the benefits. Apparently it cost about 30 grand, not counting installation and maintenance costs! Somebody must think I am worth it.

I don't work at all now apart from the odd job about the house, so I only come here late once in a blue moon.

Anyway, 'tis allus nice to hear from ee.

Am glad it all works as it should, they did say it cost about that, but you are well worth it.

I miss the insults and banter, but get the opportunity to go out with a bunch of them on a Tuesday night if I'm free. We are all retired and have worked together for forty years in some cases.
