Awwwwwwwwwww twin panda boys born in Atlanta Zoo six days ago....Congratulations to Lu Lu

Just an update on the Atlanta panda twins....

This thread was started jut over two years ago when the twin pandas Mei Lun and Mei Huan were born in Atlanta Zoo. They are the only surviving twin pandas still surviving born in a US Zoo. Well they celebrated their 2nd birthday back in July and they are still together in the same enclosure and will be until they reach sexual maturity at about age 4.

A quick pic of the Meis that popped up in my Facebook feed.
The Meis are Mei Lun and Mei Huan, twin female bears born in July 2013 at Zoo Atlanta. They were sent to China at the end of last year to join the ongoing breeding programme.

    The Toronto Twins 2nd Birthday

Happy 2nd Birthday Jia Panpan and Jia Yueyue! This morning they celebrated with some special birthday treats. Both cubs continue to grow each day, with Jia Panpan weighing 52kg and Jia Yueyue weighing 49kg. The giant panda cubs still nurse from Er Shun, but the majority of their diet is now made up of bamboo. Jia Panpan can be described as an outgoing cub, who loves to play and instigate wrestling matches with both Er Shun and his sister. Jia Yueyue is a little more independent, although she loves to participate and play, she will often quietly remove herself from the commotion and watch the fun while relaxing at a distance.

La Panda seems very proud of her cubby and wants to show him off.

Erm....I can't help but notice, he doesn't look like other cubs, his face seems pointed and he is somewhat hirsute. And a bit grey.

He actually reminds me of a brown teddy bear I had when I was small. That had a pointy face and was a bit threadbare

I'm sure he'll grow up to be a looker anyway
