Awwwwwwwwwww twin panda boys born in Atlanta Zoo six days ago....Congratulations to Lu Lu

Just an update on the Atlanta panda twins....

This thread was started jut over two years ago when the twin pandas Mei Lun and Mei Huan were born in Atlanta Zoo. They are the only surviving twin pandas still surviving born in a US Zoo. Well they celebrated their 2nd birthday back in July and they are still together in the same enclosure and will be until they reach sexual maturity at about age 4.

    Vegetarian poo smells ok.

Urine might reek a bit, though, especially when it starts to break down.

Sit in it? You'd think they'd get nappy rash!

The keepers threw a party in the County Zoo,
The Panda band was there and they began to croon,
The band was jumpin' and the zoo began to swing,
You should've heard them knocked-out pandas sing

    Let's rock......everybody let's rock........
Everybody in the whole zoo block
Was dancin' to the Bamboo Rock!

    Pandacake Day.

I was wondering, Colin, is your house chock full of panda-themed presents that you've been given over the years?
If it is, perhaps you could open a panda-themed shop, to sell them all!

Good News in the World of the Pandas!

23 year old female panda Shu Lan has been moved back to the Wolong panda base after a World wide petition put pressure on the Chinese Government to move her from a zoo in Lanzhou. She was not getting looked after properly there and lost lots of weight and had cuts on her back and was seen to be frothing at the mouth.

But she is now settling in at Wolong and looks quite happy

The panda Shu Lan who was rescued from the zoo that was not looking after her properly is doing well in her new base.

The female Fu Ni was not so funny and a bit more elusive....

This is quite an interesting article about Ami Vitale who was on assignment for National Geographic. Over the course of three years, she travelled to China five times to document the rewilding of giant pandas. This is one of her pictures she took
