SO many pages on here I can't find someone who may be in the same position!

Had an AIP through a mortgage broker from Halifax (both me and partner have banked with halifax since day1) however, partner has a default from 2014 (over 3 years ago) for the amount of £53 that has been discussed between the broker and Halifax before AIP offered.

Has anyone had an AIP through Halifax and then declined before offer?

Isn't this whole process terrifying! I've been reading everyone's stories on here and well done to those who have got offers. My first time buyers timeline is:

31 January: AIP agreed direct with Barclays
11 April: Offered and offer accepted
    13 April: Appointed solicitors
26 April: DIP agreed direct with Barclays
    27 April: Full application submitted
28 April - 9 May: The most ridiculous questions ever asked by the underwriters - they may as well have asked my shoe size!
9 May: Mortgage sanctioned pending valuation
    15 May: Valuation date

have full buildings survey in for next Monday (22 May) - ARGH, the wait is so agnoising and as a freelancer (albeit with 2 years tax returns) I still don't have any idea whether they really are going to accept me or not! I think this process seems quite quick but judging by some of your stories, I'm not sure - even with a couple of bank holidays!)

    Fingers crossed for everyone!

Really dont know what to think, we would like to buy a house around the £140k mark... I have put my partners & mine details into the Natwest AIP calc (I already hold a mortgage with them) & with our combined income of £51288 & CC debt of £16000 (slowly coming down) & deposit of £14000 (some proceed from possible sale of my house) & the current committed expenditure, taking into account what they ask for we get a result of lending 'up to' £173712 whihc is way above what we want or require. I know that there has to be a full credit check etc but does anyone know whether its likely they will take more than £47712 off what they agree in principle based on us only wanting/requiring £126000??

It certainly is a nervous time, we submitted our full application two weeks ago, our lender asked for two additional pieces of information at the end of last week which we provided Monday, we've been assured everything they have asked for is with them and it's looking positive, we are back in the queue to have a review of the new information so hopeful it will be tomorrow. Feeling very stressed by it all p.

09/05/17 Additional documents requested and submitted
11/05/17 Home report requested and submitted (we're in Scotland)
17/05/17 Broker notified us that it is in the queue for underwriter to do final checks and that the valuation was accepted.

Great news, we got a copy of our mortgage offer today. 2 weeks and one day after application. The first 10 days we had answers/request for information within one working day but last Friday three extra pieces of info needed and then a huge backlog with underwriting! We have seen an e-mail copy of the offer today, thrilled to say the least!

    Hi there

I have applied with Nationwide too

The only text I received is

"Good news we have reserved the mortgage product you have asked for . We will be in touch as your application progresses "

    Followed by
"we have received your mortgage application. if you are an existing customer switching to a new deal your switch has been accepted "

This was on the 10th of May . Since then nothing.

has anyone else received similar text ?

Please help its stressing me out. We are FTB

So I'm going through Barclays ,

Had my valuation on the 16th - still haven't heard back from bank on this other than to request an additional document regarding a rental property of my partners.

Getting a bit worried as haven't heard back yet

Anyone else had a long wait with them?

    Best,
    G

My mortgage broker advises me this is normal in terms of timeframes. I was worried as I'd seen so many people getting offers very soon after the valuation.
I was hoping to hear today but nothing.

Does anyone know if nationwide send texts out on Saturday's?

    Hi Everyone

We are currently waiting for a decision from Halifax.

We made an offer on a property 2 weeks ago, originally with an AIP from Santander however after instructing a mortgage broker we were advised to make our full application with Halifax.
We received a decision in principle from Halifax 8 days ago. Full application was made the next day via our broker. He instructed Halifax not to take payment or book a valuation until the application had gone through underwriting. Halifax came back on Thursday (18th) with an offer subject to valuation. Valuation was booked for the next day (19th). Now currently waiting for the decision from the valuation.
Our broker is hoping for a final decision next week.
