Hi,

Am applying for dla. Do I have to physically fill the form in myself. I cannot sit and write, so I'd have to do this lying down. Could look a mess and be v difficult for me.
Also, I've been v unwell for the last year, mosyly bedbound, and have little up to date ie. In the last year, written evidencc /reports of my problems. I have an xray about 2yrs old showing severe disc degeneration. Would the dla accept this?

Thank

Edit, if I have to fill in the form, I will do it of course

You do not need to send them anything like an X ray. DLA is not about your condition at all. It is about your Care and Mobility needs.
The form can be downloaded to your PC or Laptop and filled in on there then when you have finished it can be printed off so no messy writing at all. You can do it a bit at a time as you are able and save it as you finish that page or question. If you cannot get out of bed or walk then you need to tell them that and why you cannot do so and what pain it causes - do you need help going to loo washing or eating stuff - what medications you are on and how they also affect you.

Thanks horse uw. Typing is slso slow and painful. Your comments are useful and I'm doing my research in order to really understand what they need to know about my problems. I will do it a bit at a time.

Ah, thanks. This takes a weight off my mind. My partner is willing to fill it in from my dictation. I'll go down that toute.

if you have never done one of these before, it always helps to get help filling it in, cab and other welfare depts have experience of this and know what kind of wording to put.
I have done 2 for my son and both times cab have done it and have both been successful.

    Thanks poppy snd julie,
Just found a cab in nearby town. I'll call on monday. I hear they're inundated these days. All this is such a struggle energy wise, but I really want to give it my best shot, as I really could do with hrlp in my life. I keep reading how important it is to convey ones problems in the appropriate way on the form.

    Thanks again evetyone.
