O/S Daily Friday 24th May

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

And this ones a bank holiday one. A wet Bank Holiday one by the looks of the forecast!

Normal tidying Jobs to be done today. I also need to think about dinner for My wife and I tonight.
My wife's at work this afternoon, I need to pick the girls up from school. They will be having and sandwich and salad for there tea. As its Friday they will have there normal hot Hot Dinner at School.
Girls Brigade for the twins and my wife tonight so it will be late when we eat ours.

The Girls brake up from school today for there week of half team. By the looks of the weather forecast for next week its going to be a wet half team for the kids , I can remember being a teenager and May half term always use to be a nice week weather wise.
I was In the Boys brigade, And May way always our week away camping. We always use to get quite good weather too, Yes we would get a day or two of rain but in the main we had it warm., and sunny, This year its just Wet and Cold!

My wife only had Monday and Wednesday off work next week. Got no plans for Monday yet. But On Wednesday we are hoping to go to the black country museum, We have our Membership for there so there is no cost to us for a day out. But it depends on the weather. Need to have a look around to see whats going on local for Monday. If the weathers not too bad we can see about doing something.

  • Good morning everyone :)

Chilly and damp here. It was really cold last night and the throw is back on the bed. Is it really almost June?

Last day at work today, then decided to have the whole week off with DH, he is marking A level exams but I will find plenty to do at home and also help out DD and GDD at home.

Plenty more ebaying and lots of decluttering on the list. Hopefully sort out the garden and do some painting with DD. And clean this house from top to bottom!

I am not taking fasting diet seriously so have decided to go low carb next week. I find it difficult to start when I am working as I feel rough for a couple of days but once that's over, I feel great and will be back to work with a bounce and hopefully a stone less to carry around.

Thai noodle soup with salmon for dinner. Left over lamb and lentil pilaff for lunches. It's Friday so DH treats himself to a sausage butty at work for his brekkie.

Better get running into the shower so will leave with well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day. :)

    Morning All

Jackie-0 Fingrs, toes, and everything crossed for a good result for you. Will you join in the celebrations/commisserations but make mine a diet T.

sistercas - Well Done to DD.

As I get older trying to lose weight seems to get harder and harder, none of the standard diets seem to have any effect, as I don't particularly eat wrong, or have sugary drinks all the time, just to try to maintain my weight level, exercise is the key, but the Gym is not for me, doing more walking while out here though, so usually end up LC, but am having to watch the portions and make lunch more of a tiny snack than a meal, but the weight is coming off 3.5 kgs or half a stone in old money, so far. Thankfully it has gone from my spare tyre , so instead of a lorry one, I now have a car "space-saver" one!! Long way to go, but onwards and downwards.

Yesterday we went shopping for plastic plates, KF&S, serviettes, etc., for the BBQ. Also had some email work to do re the meeting, and someone being a real A-hole. DH is furious, but I can see what a pompous idiot the person is being. Someone else will have the problem next year, maybe him, and retaliation would go back in spades. As it is I write the minutes ;);)

Just deciding whether I can two poached eggs on two crispbreads for brekky, or whether I should just make it one (I adore eggs). Weather lovely out here now, though still a cooler wind that normal, but think some salmon on the BBQ with salad will be the menu for dinner tonight.

The other days listening to my CD's popped on Dangerous, and heard this again, was issued in the 90's but still valid today.

((hugs)), spoons, etc., to all. Take care DG
