Can you reclaim VAT on medicines

Can anyone advise me on this please.
My husband is about to commence a drug trial. The first month will be free. If it is successful and we wish to continue we will have to pay.
We have been quoted £191 per month, inclusive of VAT.
Does anyone know if it is possible to claim the VAT back.
My husband was in receipt of DLA and we used to be able to buy equipment VAT free but I'm uncertain on where we stand now.
He is in a nursing home so the personal care element of DLA has now been discontinued although he still retains the mobility element of DLA.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
PS - Just edited to add.
I have been trawling around "Tinternet", even visiting the Revenue & Customs website. It clearly states that prescription drugs are zero rated and yet the lady at BUPA said "inclusive of VAT".
Maybe she meant inclusive of zero vat???? Oh well I'll just have to wait and see.
Meanwhile if anyone has come across this I would be very interested to know exactly what is what..........
