Worktop HELP!! Losing the will now....

We made the humongous mistake of getting curved cabinets on the end of our u-shape kitchen!!

Granite is proving too expensive and wood I don't want due to the upkeep.
We thought we've found the solution in a laminate worktop which was shaped but have now realised we can't source a worktop wide enough.
The width of the worktop needs to be at least 960 wide and all the laminates we've found are a max of 900.

Can someone help!!!

If you want a laminate worktop properly edged, contact a local kitchen specialist near you selling european kitchens. A lot of the better european kitchen companies will to 100-120cm worktops and will provide it cut to the radius you want, edged as well.

If you can't find anything, you could go for wood and give it a heavy duty coating - several coats of polyurethane make it pretty resistant/low maintenance.

The laminate edge isn't the issue now it's finding a laminate worktop wide enough. We need a worktop 970 wide and all the suppliers I can find are 900 wide.

Basically it's two rows of units butt up against each other.
So not actually having a breakfast bar as such.

If they're back to back units what's the overall width - and isn't there room to take 50mm off the back of each cupboard? Or is it a different combination of things?? (Piccie would be more helpful really!!)
