inheritance and tax rebates after discharge

I went BR mid 2011 and was discharged after 6 months... Jan 2012.
What is the situation with any tax rebates if I apply and also if I was to receive any inheritance money?? Can this new claimed back?? If so, when am I free from this??
I have no IPA and the BR was done quick with early discharge as dated above.
Thanks in advance

you can claim any tax that is not covered with the BR, so post discharge is fine, any money you recieve after discharge is free and clear, all yours.
If unsure and any tax that is dated predischarge, it's worth ringing your OR and asking them, you never know, they could give you the go ahead to claim, can't hurt.0 -
Tax refunds relating to the tax year you went BR in or earlier should go to the OR. Otherwise they are yours, although may be claimable as income if you are in an IPA?
Inheritances are claimable by the OR if the person died while you were undischarged. When you actually receive it does not effect whether they can claim it. If the person died after you discharge, then the inheritance is yours.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
