Default Is this real? Or scam?

I received this email today and wondered does anyone know if it's genuine? I only enter comps from MSE and can't find any record of hotelbono on site, which is the return address. I have not clicked on the 'activate my to win' link as I don't want to unleash a virus.

Hi Suzie,

It's confirmed!!

Your participation in the draw we sponsor has given you the chance to win your first prize: "An Apple product, choose betweeen an iMac, an iPad or an iPhone 5"

Please, activate your chance to win by clicking on the following link:

Activate my chance to win

The Bonotour sales and reservation department would like to congratulate and give you the warmest welcome to Bonotour.

Regards,

Head of Reservations

Can anyone advise please
Thank you

Activate your chance to win seems scammy to me.

Is Suzie the correct name though? Normally emails like this wouldn't have your name in.

You could email Bonotour via their website (they seem to be a travel company of some sort) to see if it's genuine?

Any email which says "has given you the chance to win" is spam.
If you had won it would say so. I'd give it a wide berth.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your comments, they echo what I initially thought. The email heading is, 'We have a surprise for you!' which could come across as a veiled threat really if the surprise is a virus or malware attack I think I'll give this one a miss.

Default If Something Sounds Too Good To Be True It Usually Is!

This seems like so many attempted scams - some of which have caused considerable problems with my computer picking up hijacking programmes that are hard to get rid of. I'm a bit concerned that this one turned up in my inbox. I don't know if anyone has advice but I am inundated with spam from the USA which urge me to take out car insurance at $9 a day and other similar offers?

Spam. I get these several times a day. If you try to unsubscribe you're really just confirming your e-mail address for more spam. Very annoying and wish something could be done about it.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributes positively to these forums!

Thanks so much for this. Just received an email from hotolbono/bontour/Viajes TUTTOCARD SL saying I had won an ipad. Very suspicious and thankfully checked here before clicking the link. I am new to comp-ing so was hoping it was my first win :-(

This is what I love about this site, you can check out anything if you're not sure and get the answer you thought. I got the email today. Shame I could've done with a new phone, but knowing my luck I'd end up winning an actual apple

Hi

This is still doing the rounds, just received exactly the same email! I looked up Bonotours and this site was the first result, so thought I'd let people know they're still at it!!
