Im not a fan of earl gray either, I think it tastes like you havent rinsed the washing up liquid out of the cup properly!! But my friends love earl gray and insist its supposed to taste like that and its lovely!! Each to their own!

Love, hugs, sticks, spoons, VIBES and congratulations as required!! I have been MIA for a few days so apologies to anyone Ive missed!!

I have been so busy with work and Uni but I took a couple of extra shifts as the extra money will come in handy... I will get in trouble from the Uni as it will take me over the allowed number of hours, but Ill deal with that when it comes round

Ive also had my two year old nephew here most of the week and my own DS has taken to dumping EVERYTHING... Me and him will be having words

So short version... house has resumed pit-like status!

Best try and get ready then take DNephew to nursery and fit in some flying before going to Uni at 1...

I think I need a list

Good morning

DW has been emptied, all washing collected and breakfast eaten. I have cleaned the new-to-me carseat and the cover is in the wash. The rest of the washing will have to wait until later, when I have collected the TD

I had a bad dream last night! I dreamt everyone was here, it was Christmas morning and then I realised that I hadn't done any food shopping!! I was scraping around trying to find turkey, potatoes, etc & telling everyone there was no food! When I woke up, and had to remind myself it is only early October Very stressful!

I am waiting for Bubba, and then we will play for a bit. Then it is pick up DD2 at break, walk to the hospital for a blood test, then she gets McDs for lunch & goes to her friends to do some coursework. School finishes at 1.30 today, but I should be all finished for the day by 4pm I like Fridays

I don't like earl grey, or PG (too weak!)

I love Earl Grey! I like it with a slice of lemon in - really refreshing. Mr LW has milk in his.

Well done! I've got one of those electric tennis raquet thingies.

The field was flooded when I took Dave out this morning, so we had to find another route for our walk. I hadn't realised it had rained so much last night!

They make good spider catchers too

I always have to empty the bag straight after, or sit my hoover outside the front door for a while till I think its dead...

Kitchen respectable. WM Finished so think I will go hang that up...

DS bedroom tidied, so washing basket is full again.
LR and my bedroom have been tidied too, so think I will birl round with the hoover

ETA - Random Question: what are your thoughts on leaving your kids home alone. My DS is 10 and legally he is allowed to stay at home alone for short periods as long as he feels safe etc (I just checked...and was surprised!) I had to go and take Nephew to nursery and DS didnt want to come, but I didnt really want to leave him so made him come. Hes huffing and puffing that its not fair and Im treating him like a baby... what are your thoughts? I know there is probably a more appropriate board for this, but I know you ladies and wondered your opinions.

from the age of 10 mine are walking down to the high school on their own so are probally safer in the house, my youngest is 12 now, ill give him the choice if we are going boring shopping or popping round mils etc i always leave him my mobile phone and have dhs with us and leave the keys in the door with instructions hes to lock after we go and not let anyone in or answer the house phone. i wouldnt go out on the razz and leave him but there are times when they are happier home alone, you know your own child and what they will know what they can or cant do.
HTH

almost wasted morning walked down for mils perscrptions and as suspected was told she cant have any more tabs yet as according to their records she still has enough. i realised that after i spent an afternoon round there playing hunt the tablets from her many hiding places! still nipped in shops and popped in to see DD3 whos off work poorly so not totally wasted morning

Jo - my DS3 is also 10. I will leave him home alone if I'm popping out for up to about 30 minutes. He knows the rules, only answer the phone if it says Mum or Dad mobile, no answering the door.

Yey my elec/gas switch has happened so that is a job I can tick off.

Just going to have lunch and then clean the bathroom.

There is no legal age for them being left alone.. you could leave a toddler in the house alone but you are responsible if they have an accident. At 10 I would leave them for no more than half an hour probably.. if they were a sensible child.. DS3 is a muppet so has only just started being left at 13
