MSE Local eBay Deals tool discussion

Hi all, we've built a new Local eBay Deals Mapper tool find pick-up only bargains near you.
If you could let us know what you think, that would be fab. How are the results for you? Is there anything you'd like to see added?
Thanks for your help!
MSE Jenny

That is an excellent search tool! Especially like the map that opens when 'Where' is clicked.

Just had a play about and it was working fine for me, I compared my search with www.localbargainfinder.co.uk.
I used a 15 mile search radius, but alas nothing of a bargain for me today.

I love it! Its a lot more user friendly with the map as I live near a river and am often told an item is only 10miles from me but that is as the crow flies/swims. Having to drive around the river means it is more likely to be 30miles away.
Great idea, well done MSE

a keyword version would be useful.. instead of selecting a category being able to enter exactly what you are searching for.. eg fiat punto or grandfather clock or piano
Indecision is the key to flexibility.

It works, but you dont really need these 'tools'
you can set up these searches with eBay and save them
also you can then set up email notifications on these searches

Honesty,integrity,self sufficiency.
Seems I'm in the minority on this.

Humour me here please.
Is MSE seeing and storing all that nice postcode information it is harvesting from the tool? Very useful especially linked to user names.

What do you type into Ebay search if you juist want to see everything that is finishing?

however eBay still require a keyword/category

Nope we dont do that, its not what we're about (and if we ever wanted that info we'd ask you) plus what user names - the tool is not linked to the forum, we don't have your user name in it.

It would be a simple capture though if people clicked through the link when they were logged in.
But thanks for the clarification that you are not using it in this way.

There are already several such sites that do this such as BayCrazy (which has all kinds of Ebay searches, not just local ones) Although this works fine, why would MSE want to be bothered with it?
