    Jobo88
Hello, my name is Jobo88 and I am addicted to painting my nails!

I love this thread! been reading through a little bit this afternoon, I thought I was quite bad for collecting polishes, but I haven't got many compared to some of the impressive collections on here! I've got a habit of coming home with new polishes every time I go to poundland, I always keep an eye out for sally hansen in there, and I love their 'jess' range of nail polish too, comes in lovely colours and the quality is really good for the price!

    today I'm wearing Serenity Now by H&M on my nails;

I don't wear it very often as it doesn't apply brilliantly, but I do love the colour!

    Jobo xx
I'm usually using a phone, so excuse my spelling please!

Oohh it's back. Got some OPI polish down to £4.50 a bottle on sallys website the other week. Have opi 'kiss me or elf' on at the mo, a shimmery purple, with opi 'oy not another polish joke' gold glitter on top, except ring and thumbs which have black and gold wee flourishes. Loving all my new opis! I bought 6!

Nooo they're all different LOL. I like a sort of straight but with curved corners if that makes sense-just can't get them looking the same. I'm impressed that my nail beds have got a decent length though. They were a lot shorter before. So nail beds do reattach

My SIL loves nail varnish and it's her birthday coming up. I'd already bought her a special birthday gift a while back and am thinking about buying her some posh nail varnish. Any recommendations?

Depending on your budget, Nails Inc and Ciate do some really nicely packaged sets - you might get lucky and find some good ones in the clearance section of their websites.

Personally as a present of posh nail varnish I'd love Essie or Butter London bottles - Essie for beautiful natural colours that are very versatile, and Butter London for beautiful shimmery and glittery options!

Bigger Boots stores now have lots of different brands in stock - definitely worth popping in to see what you like the look of / your sister would like.

Does anyone use any other polishes to do stamping, outside of Konad Special polishes?
It seems ebay has exhausted its supply of cheap ones, and can't find it elsewhere that's cheap.
Are there any other brands that will work as well?
I know you can use normal polish, but they're not as crisp, or as bold as you get with proper stamping polishes. I also struggle to mix colours on plates with more liquid standard polishes, so would prefer to locate some, just don't want to pay over £3/4ish a bottle (inc P&P). My original konads that I've bought a few years ago, still work well, but want more colours.

The Barry M metallic polishes work perfectly - I use their gold and silver all the time.

Anyone else doing the various nails by subscription services? I have done 3 nailbox.co.uk boxes and liked them so far.

I've just bought a bottle of Nails Inc Pro long wear gel look. The shade name is Victoria Embankment and it's the pink I've been searching for.

It's a matte finish, mid pink. I'd say it was quite neutral while still standing out; not a glaring or jarring at all. I love it. I think it would be suitable for a workplace, but it also looks great on my toes, while I'm wearing sandals during our current heatwave. Very versatile and, while it works well against my fair skin tone, I can see it also looking great on other skin tones, too.

I might even try a high gloss top coat over it; I reckon that would be really effective. While I'm there, I might also have a closer look at the other colours in the range, too. It's great to find a colour that works well for me now that I'm hitting middle age! It's lasting well on my toes, too. Doesn't seem to chip when I do put shoes in, which sometimes happens for me.
