PC World Boxing Day SALE - Exclusive info 23rd Dec 06 at 11:08 AM
We managed to get some exclusive insider info on the PC World sale -
    and some important info!

The PC World sale officially starts at 9am on Boxing Day..BUT this year
for the first time ever you are able to reserve items online and
collect them at store. In other words you don't have to queue up from
    5am to get a bargain!

PC World normally turn off their 'collect @store' service over the sale ..but not this year.

The sale isn't officially announced until 6pm on Christmas Eve..but if
you want the 'insider info' on whats in the sale, including a laptop
for £199 and a Sat Nav for £79.

    Happy Sales

please go back to your first post, click "edit2 and remove the link

From my experience of 'collect @store' I wouldn't rely on a sale item being properly reserved

If memory serves me correctly, they have loads of PS2 games stock on Xmas Eve, adverts then say something like latest games for £25 instead of £40, mysteriously though, no stock on shelves on boxing day. mmmm. after 2 wasted boxing day mornings at PC World I won't be rushing again this year.

From my experience I wouldn't rely on any item being reserved!

However if the item you reserved is out of stock and you make a fuss you can get a similar item that costs more for the price of the item you reserved

you have to bear in mind that collect at store relies on someone picking the item for you. On Boxing day when PC World takes over £125000 they just do not have the manpower to do it.

They will have a dedicated collect @ store team for the sale period and have been instructed to offer an alternative product for the same price if there is a problem with the reserved order.

I will try and reserve a laptop online anyway, and then go early-ish anyway. As mine got stolen the other day, I'm looking for a bargain!
