Abba1772's Debt Free Diary 26th Oct 10 at 11:38 PM
    hi everyone

New on here not new to debt was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt

By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for £6000 and this was may last year but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the £3000 mark

    Debts June 2009
    Capital One Card £6000
    BOS CC £1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ £124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments

    Debts October 2010
Capital One Card £3245.39 Paying £200 a month into this
BOS CC £1559.81 Paying minimum payment of £34

I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly £50 a month but last year is was over £80 a month so saving £30 already

Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009

My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying £200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!

The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess £200 plus the £34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have £360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.

well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car

My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

    sorry to waffle on lol

    Evening

Been busy crunching numbers have done my month end numbers

Reduced my debt by £698.42 in September not bad considering I have £675 to find for the desposit for the holiday

My targets for this month is to get the barclaycard under £1299 this month as that will means I've paid off £1000 over two months this means I need to find £411.03 in October which I should be able to do

I've added to my debt via the Argos card but technically I've had my eye on this furniture since I moved in but £600 on two items of furniture seemed excessive but Argos had reduced both pieces by 20% plus I got a code for another 10% off so I got both bits of ready made furniture for £440 plus I went through top cashback so I should have just under £40 tracking too they get delivered on the 16th and I'll be selling my older living room furniture so whatever I make from that will be put straight back into the Argos card ............so excited just means I need to sand down and paint my kitchen table and chairs and order my clear Perspex to put on top of it so my paint doesn't chip off as at the moment it's stained pine and I want it white

    Morning

Was a bit of a spendy day yesterday discovered mould in our kitchen cupboard so had to go to b&q for mould paint and wood filler so that was £19 stuff for my hair £19 and lunch for me and hubby at subway £11

Hubby had a breakdown yesterday was sobbing on my stairs says he hates working as a mechanic felt so bad for him and so helpless as I don't know how to help him...........so he started to look for non mechanic jobs now I tank he would be great as a car salesman as he knows all about cars so at least he would know what he's talking about he's already asked a friend who works at Vauxhall who says they are looking so just waiting on hear back from him so fingers crossed something will turn up as he's such a lovely man who does so much for us and I just want him to be happy xx

Only thing with sales work it's basic pay is twelve thousand a year so would be losing half his wage should he go down that route but we would manage we always do as his happiness comes first xx

Still paying down the Barclays card will have it under the next hundred mark tomorrow when I get paid off some of my parents tomorrow xx

Good luck to hubby, hope he finds something he enjoys. Life is too short to be miserable at work. It's one thing finding it tedious, it's another thing when you absolutely hate it.

Well done on the debt reduction, you are doing so well!
