On a bit of a downer at the moment and I have no idea why :(

Hubby wants to go for a mortgage now but if we do it in my name only I get hee haw and his credit is rubbish.....apparently the financial advisor says he can secure us for a mortgage of £67k plus our deposit which should have me jumping for joy but here's the sticky part.......it can't be under £67k so the house I viewed at the weekend would be a no no as its offers over £45k so we need to get viewings done pronto I guess as we only have a window of opportunity til the 8th March

Plus my non paying parent has just informed me she doesn't know when I'll be getting paid as tax credits are only giving her £17 extra a week yet she still owes me £124 for last week and £45 for this week so once again it'll start mounting up again so between these two things I'm just feeling low and I hate feeling like this xx

Been working since 8am finished at 4pm went to toddlers FREE :T via bus £3.70 return then it was off to farmfoods for milk 75p and Greggs for two sausage rolls for the kids £1.60 and I treated myself to a salad at subway £4.20 so not bad for just over £10

Put £45 into the bank do at least I have something in there at the moment paid the £40 into xanders school for his trip so that's something off my list and I'm tackling paying Abbie's school trip to Italy so one of my oarents has paid me so I'll be putting £20 into that tonight and hubby is away doing a homer tonight so might oat him down and see what I can shake off him to put into her school trip fund xx

  • Sorry to hear you on a bit of a downer ...You are too hard on yourself you do a great job. Maybe just frustrated as the parent hasn't paid and you had already allocated that money in your head.

You'll soon get back on track you'll see ;-)

I'm feeling better slept like a baby last night so I think that helped

Think it is a multitude of things my heads is whizzing at the moment with work, non payment of wages, saving, debt busting no now potentially looking for a house so it's quite stressful my head at the moment lol xx

Tax credits in so paid £75 :T so that's the Argos card sorted til next month as I've split the total into 4 so it leaves me to concentrate on the Halifax card but hubby has asked that I don't tackle it too hard this month just in case we are successful in securing a house :( so I've agreed I won't be putting any big payments on this month so might just keep rounding down my account and adding little payments and if we aren't successful by the middle of March then I will smack the card :rotfl:

Working 8am til 5.30pm today so not too bad kk is still sleeping kids are watching paw patrol and we are heading out to our dance group at 9.45am and it's free :T

Fab news about going for a house Abba...

This is our plan at the moment but house prices here are a little higher.

Cheapest 2 bed in our village is currently £168k!! Which is a terraced with hardly any garden

We will have to look at around the £200-240k mark which is very scary in comparison - we also don't have very high wages down here either :(

I hope you find something you like quickly!

We have put a offer in for a house :T and financial adviser is 95% sure we will get a mortgage because we have over 10% of the deposit already ...............we've asked the kids who have £2500 between them if we can borrow money off them to buy the house with a promise that we give them £100 on top of what we borrow so they'll be getting more than what they would earn in interest if it was sitting in the bank and it secures us our own house so kids are all excited xx

So fingers, legs, eyes everything crossed please :rotfl:

Financial adviser has told us that the mortgage company want us to clear some of our debts.........they want the Argos card cleared which is now sitting at £199 :T and hubby's credit card £845 as part of they're criteria but we would have 8 weeks to clear it as that's when we could potentially have the keys to the house so my target has changed...........I'm going to concentrate on the Argos card and next week when my child benefit comes in I'll be paying that into hubby's credit card as well as another £200 so then it's only got £445 sitting on it then once Argos card is cleared hopefully by the end of the month I can concentrate on clearing hubby's card by middle of April so that's the plan so far so I have a aim xx

Wow that's fantastic news. Keep us updated on whether it is accepted. I'm just thrilled for you. Sounds like a great return for the kids on their money too! The system is so much more efficient in the UK. We went sale agreed end Nov and finally looks like we are getting the keys this Friday.

The house we've put a offer in for is empty as the owners were a little old couple who have sadly passed away so we have no chain whatsoever we could get keys within 4 weeks but hubby want to get two pay days behind us so we can save more money towards fees etc which is sooooo sensible of him........don't know what's happened to him :rotfl:

Good idea of the hubby. The more you save towards fees the more money you have to furnish it!
