    hi everyone

New on here not new to debt was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt

By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for £6000 and this was may last year but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the £3000 mark

    Debts June 2009
    Capital One Card £6000
    BOS CC £1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ £124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments

    Debts October 2010
Capital One Card £3245.39 Paying £200 a month into this
BOS CC £1559.81 Paying minimum payment of £34

I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly £50 a month but last year is was over £80 a month so saving £30 already

Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009

My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying £200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!

The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess £200 plus the £34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have £360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.

well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car

My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

    sorry to waffle on lol

    Afternoon

Hope Santa was good to you all

Having a house day today will probably sort through all the toy wrapping / rubbish today

Sent a couple of payments towards the Halifax during the holidays not much but I'm trying to keep a tight rein on our spending so I can chuck a couple of hundred towards the Halifax before the new year is out xx

We need to do a food shop at some point this week but again I'm trying to run everything down but I've allocated £200 for our monthly shop so we shall see when we can be bothered doing that

Had a headache for a week now and now the blooming cough has returned ...........lovely

Coughs everywhere Abba. I hope you feel better soon. I may kill my DH though as he is driving me mad with is serious illness.

Good luck with the sorting and eventually doing the shopping. I can't face the shops yet.

    Hey

Well my wee bug finally caught up with me been in my bed since Wednesday night ........last night my temperature hit 40 degrees poor hubby phoned Nhs24 but they said because it's a viral there's nothing they can do so thankfully I started sweating really badly and I hoping that's it burnt out my system

Still hasn't stopped me sending money to the Halifax account tho that's me under another hundred bracket baby steps and all that bit bummed I won't have the card under £4K by the end of the year but I'll try my hardest

Because I've been ill I've still not managed our monthly shop but I'll see how I feel tomorrow xx

Kids want my homemade steak pie for news years dinner so need to get the stuff from the butcher tomorrow xx

Ah sorry to hear you're feeling poorly, the bugs are definitely going around! Well done to still managing to send a payment to Hally, a brilliant achievement at this time of year.

New years dinners sounds good, I haven't even thought about that yet!

    Afternoon

    Happy new year everyone

    Hope your all well

I've had two nsd in a row it's been a while but hoping to have more this month

Not up to much sent my first payment towards the Halifax card it was only £2.34 but it's a start

On the money front we are doing not bad bills have all came out today

Still a poorly household here hubby and ds1 have went downhill and I've still to shift this blooming headache had enough of this flu bug it can do one

Received cheques in the post for my car tax and my paintwork policy for the broken car so this money will be put towards finding gap insurance for the new car so hoping to get it under £200 fir peace of mind but that's how much the cheques total up to so it's technically money I don't need to find

    Aims of January 2018 are:

    Get Halifax under £4K
Clear very account which currently sits at £80
Sell some items on fb selling pages and put money into Florida tin

A few targets to break 2018 in gently

    Evening

Headache is still here it's getting very annoying

Managed to get all the Xmas decorations from indoors all packed away........need to do the outdoor ones tomorrow as it's not meant to be raining tomorrow we shall see

Walked up to the town with the kids dropped off a bag to the charity shop of Xmas decorations we've not used since we moved into this house nipped into homebargains and spent £20 on shampoo, conditioner, 2 handwashes, kitchen roll, toilet paper, crisps x2 multipacks, potatoes, baked potatoes, bread and a diary for 2018

Nipped to farmfood spent £4.50 on meatballs for our dinner tonight.......they were lovely.

Hubby met up with us so whilst I had him I popped back into homebargains and spent £15 topping up the tin cupboard of soup and beans

Did the avon run tonight collect £272 in orders that's really good considering the time of the year where no one has no money after Xmas and new year so I'm happy with that, got another collection next Thursday and order goes away next Friday

Abbie and Kk made cakes.......they were delicious Kk ate three wee fatty boom boom

Back to work for me tomorrow just a wee half shift so not too bad to break myself in after two weeks off...........mainly being ill
