Abba1772's Debt Free Diary 26th Oct 10 at 11:38 PM
    hi everyone

New on here not new to debt was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt

By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for £6000 and this was may last year but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the £3000 mark

    Debts June 2009
    Capital One Card £6000
    BOS CC £1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ £124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments

    Debts October 2010
Capital One Card £3245.39 Paying £200 a month into this
BOS CC £1559.81 Paying minimum payment of £34

I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly £50 a month but last year is was over £80 a month so saving £30 already

Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009

My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying £200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!

The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess £200 plus the £34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have £360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.

well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car

My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

    sorry to waffle on lol

Right I've braved looking At the bank accounts......could have been worse

We had £300 left in the holiday funds so I've left £180 in there as abbies birthday is on the 17th and she's wanting a PS4 so we are getting a second hand one and this seems to be the going price for them so that's set aside plus I already got her little gifts from the boys so all I need to get is cards so im organised at least for that, can't believe she'll be 15 in less than two weeks

Got most of abbies school uniform shopping in just need another pack of shirts from Tesco and a jumper and a pair of shoes Xander needs a bag, jumpers and polo shirts and that's them both sorted

I still have £280 in the back up fund but hubby won't get paid until the 21st so need to watch the pennies for the next couple of weeks

Need to do a huge food shop today at lidls have £145 left in my normal bank account so I'm hoping we can do it for that as we haven't done a monthly food shop for two month so everything needs replenished

I have just over £50 in my pa account I have decided I'm putting this money towards my new dining room table that I want.......it's £225 in Ikea so so far with t the money I have in there and I've just cashed out on pureprofile so that's another £25 winging its way to my table fund

after I've got my table I'll be using all survey money going towards the Florida holiday fund whilst I tackle the debt using any extra I get for my wages due to it being the Summer holidays plus doing my daily round down which will start next week

Got avon books to collect tonight as I put them out before we went on our holidays hoping to make over £100 in commission, again half of this will be going towards the Halifax card which is my new target..........I aim to get this cleared by the end of October ......very tight target but I'm determined to get it gone which will hopefully go for us when we start looking to remortgage by April next year so we need to pay down as much as we can by end of February at the latest so it's a go go go and hubby is on board too

He away doing a homer at them moment I'm a bit unsure what to do with the money he makes from his extra work........might put half in the holiday fund and then the other half could go towards the debt????????? Need to talk to hubby about this and see what he thinks xx

I have my brother and his family stayingere for a week so no rest or break for me but if he thinks he's getting all his food for nothing he can !!!! off so he'll be getting asked for a contribution to food after I've done the big food shop

Back to work tomorrow was nice whilst it lasted but no rest for the wicked

Wow you are straight back onto it. No grass growing under your feet. Amazing coming back with money from your holiday.

Saving for particular things is something I stuggle with. I think a few more seperate accounts may help....or your posts printed off and put in my purse.

Can't afford to let the grass grow as I have all three of my kids birthdays from now til August ............the two boys were both born on the 20th August 7 years apart twins gone wrong lol plus I have the two oldest schools uniforms to buy but luckily I bought most of abbies down in Manchester the day we got back from holiday and I bought xanders trainers and school trousers before we left on holiday so I'm semi organised.

We have kks main present in the garage got him a go kart was £80 down to £40 before we went on holiday and Xander wants a tablet so not too expenisve but I need to be on the ball until after the boys birthday xx

    Afternoon

Been a nsd so far today but unfortunately it won't last as I need fairy non bio and toilet paper so need to nip to homebargains after I've finished work

Got our monthly shop in lidl last night spent £125 but my brother gave us £30 for their share of the food plus found a £1 in a trolley the. Spent £12.99 at the butchers on burgers and sausages so not too bad

Waiting on one of my parents to pay me then I'll have over £100 I'm my bank account again thank goodness so need to get that to the bank at some point so that I don't spend it in my purse

Hubby has finished one homer, got a phone call this morning for a clutch job so hopefully more money will be winging it way to us don't know how much tho we shall see what hubby charges them xx

Kids are going to their grans tonight I really love my kids but I need a break especially since kks anxiety has kicked in he won't let me out of his sight, it's like having a baby again so I'm looking forward to the peace .......well as much as I can seeing as. Y brother and his family are here

One of hubby's best friends died whilst we were on our first day of holiday was quite a shock unfortunately we can't get time off for the funeral but we have offered his widow and their two daughters a break up at ours just to get them away for a bit so they are coming up next month which she's very pleased about thank goodness just feel useless ........I've only met them once but they were a lovely couple and I don't know what's I would do if I lòst my hubby

Here's how my wee accounts are sitting for Sunday .......

    Florida £60
Back up fund (until end of July) £300
    Normal bank account £2

Parent still owes me £56 from last week should get it tomorrow so £26 will get put aside to go into the bank and I'll make the £30 stretch til Friday

Hubby has put a car up for sale that he bought for £30, he's hoping to get £180 for it if so that'll boost the Florida fund and back up fund

Can't wait to apply the back up fund bar £100 to the Halifax card would live to get it under the £3k mark by the end of the month we shall see xx

Hubby sold the car for £180 so £90 will be winging it to the Florida and £90 will go to the back up fund and will hopefully be heading towards the Halifax card

Hubby also has another clutch job so that might be another £150 in his pocket too

The way it's going with the homer jobs hubby's venture into being self employed in April after we've remortgaged looks like it might be a good idea after all xx

    I'm defo not complaining xx

Need to speak to hubby about the car sale money as need £50 for xanders school polo shirts and jumpers so might use £50 from the sale money and then split the remaining £130 into the two savings acccounts and that means one less thing to worry about, it's still £65 towards each of the accounts so Florida pot would be sitting at £125 and back up fund would be sitting at £365 so it's not to be sniffed at

The £150 from the next homer is going towards a diagnostic kit for hubby as his old one conked out so whatever is left from the money will again be split between the two accounts

Really proud of hubby and how he's starting work at 7am doing his welding then coming home to do homers to build his little empire xx

    Morning

Been up and showered, put a washing on the line and started work at 7am I feel knackered lol hopefully wake up soon

We are going to a kids club at the school it's £1.25 per child so £5 for me then we will be coming home for lunch and then we are off to the town as there's a kids event on from 12am til 4pm so that'll knacker the kids out

Need to get another wash on the go but need to wait til someone gets out their bed so I can get in their room as ideally would like another wash on the line before we go out this afternoon seeing as it's super sunny here today

So I'm aiming to keep my spends under £10 today we shall see
