Abba1772's Debt Free Diary 26th Oct 10 at 11:38 PM
    hi everyone

New on here not new to debt was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt

By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for £6000 and this was may last year but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the £3000 mark

    Debts June 2009
    Capital One Card £6000
    BOS CC £1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ £124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments

    Debts October 2010
Capital One Card £3245.39 Paying £200 a month into this
BOS CC £1559.81 Paying minimum payment of £34

I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly £50 a month but last year is was over £80 a month so saving £30 already

Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009

My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying £200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!

The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess £200 plus the £34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have £360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.

well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car

My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

    sorry to waffle on lol

I hope you are well - kitchen refurb sounds exciting.

I really cant wait to buy a house to pick a kitchen...I just need to ensure we don't buy a house with a nice kitchen which will scupper my plans!

Small payment sent towards the holiday clothes fund I am absolutely skinto until Wednesday I could cry but on a positive note I'm just waiting for the carpet payment to come off so I can cancel the direct debit as that'll be the final payment next to get paid off completely will be the couch but that won't be until September unless I decided to just pay it off before then they payments should be out just now but they haven't came out the bank yet as they were due on the 13th so will just need to keep a check on the bank xx

Hoping for a LSD as the weather here is miserable so I've only spent £1 on playgroup fees.......scratch that it won't be a LSD as I have physio tonight so that'll be £30 roll on payday on Friday so I can have a bit of money

Got two extra shifts this week so that's a extra £56 this week but won't see it til Friday so just need to be extra frugal this week it's doable I guess xx

    Morning

Lost 1.5lbs on Saturday only 2lbs away from my wedding weight and about 5 weeks to go before we go on holiday I can do this hopefully, normally when I get to my target weight I sabotage myself but I don't intend on doing that this time round she says hopefully xx

Transferred 13p over to the holiday clothes pot still something I guess lol xx

Final payment for the carpets came out today so I've cancelled my direct debit woo hoo this extra money will be getting out towards the Halifax card next month

Sat last night and broke down my target for the hailfax credit card to be paid off and by my calculations I can have it paid off 25th November but you know me I like a challenge so I'm aiming for it to be paid off by the end of October I'll start this as soon as I have enough money in my holiday clothes pot can't wait to be honest to be back to the debt busting quite sad isn't it xx

LSD today hopefully as all I need is a couple of bottles of diet iron bru today and I have the money in my purse. Should be getting paid tonight by one of my parents so it'll be nice having some money in my purse

Physio went great got more exercises to do so I'm back in two weeks time for another assessment to see how I'm getting on but it's £30 worth spent if it relives the pain xx

    Morning

Tax credits are in and they've been chopped must be because the renewal is due but because I only count last years amount we were getting and using anything extra to pay off debt or add to savings it's not affecting us too much so sent £43 something over the to holiday clothes pot so I am over the £200 mark still aiming for £300 by the weekend

Working 7.30am til 5pm today taking the kids to the dancing group today which is free so that'll entertain the little ones and we will get lunch from the bakers

Need to go up to the town for a few bit hoping it'll not be too expensive I need to get two new keys cut, juice for Abbie and chips, I think that's it

I have the avon getting delivered tomorrow forgot to say I collected over £520 in orders so at least £117 in commission so half of that will be going towards the holiday clothes pot when it's all collected quite chuffed with the big order xx

Checked my national insurance contributions and I'm quite pleased I'm all up to date and on route to getting a ok personal pension..........need to look into my private pension that I won in my divorce and see if I can start adding to it........need to look into how that'll affect the government pension .................gosh I'm getting old

I have five minutes peace so thought I would jump on

Didn't stop all day yesterday think my Fitbit was screaming over 28000 steps yesterday and yes my legs are absolutely killing me this morning

Did the avon run last night managed to deliver over £290 in orders last night took us two and a half hours tho

Did my daily transfer over to the holiday account didn't hit my £300 ...........yet as I'm awaiting one of my parents to pay me so I'm splitting the extra shifts into half so I'll be putting £30 into the holiday clothes fund once I've put the money in the bank.

I have playgroup to run this morning then I start work at 11.30am til 5pm then it's the weekend need to stay up late tonight tho as Abbie is at Alton towers with the school and they are expected to be back at midnight tonight hate late nights

Need to nip into town to put money in the bank and get bread and butter from Tesco

Got a few avon dealIveries to get rid of this morning the. We have another avon run after dinner and I might just be able to get the invoice paid by this weekend again love my avon customers xx

Which means as of Monday I can start to see the blanCe on this pesky Halifax card go down can't wait

Not working til 3pm today but still have playgroup and I need to go to the shops for a few bits for the fridge so I'll be kept busy xx

Off to get Xander up for school xx

    Morning

I've passed the £400 mark going to keep going til I hit £500 which should be at the weekend

Hubby has a interview on Thursday but here's the snag we need to work out if he has to work a weeks notice at his work which might be for no pay depending on if he's had too many holidays then he would need to work a weeks lying time at the new job which could be potentially two weeks with no pay scary stuff but it's a change from mechanical work it's slightly less pay but overtime is there If he wants it and it's Monday to Friday so if he wanted he could do the mobile mechanics at the weekends if he wanted.

Let's see what fate flings at us.......I've said as long as we have food in the cuprboards and our bills can get paid even If the debt repayments are on minimum payments we can do it xx

After I've go at the holiday money sorted then I might need to start putting money by in the normal savings account to see us through as if he were to get this job he wouldn't get holiday pay either

Now this will be a challenge

Well hubby got the job means next month will be tight but if he enjoys it and it puts a smile on his face that's all I can ask for

He's got a few homers so he's agreed any money earned will be put into the savings to cover us should we need it, I'll also be rounding down my account a d sending it to the savings, I've told hubby thwhatever we don't use by the end of July will be getting put towards the credit card so I'm hoping that we will have a good chuck to fling at it

As you can see on my signature I've hit my £500 target for the clothes shopping, again whatever is left from the shopping trip will be put into the savings until the end of July

So we have a plan just hope we can make it through to July with a few bumps in the road and I'm really hoping I can take a massive chunk out of the Halifax card by then xx

    Morning :sorry:

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday got lost in catching up with paperwork...........filed my tax return and renewed my tax credits then got caught up with some childminding paperwork seeing as I had no kids of my own and I wasn't working yesterday.........still got loads of paperwork to sort out as I go at my dreaded quiestpionnaires in which means my inspection is due at some point soon hate inspections but it's necessary

Was a LSD day until I had physio which was £30 but it's well spent as I can feel a difference in my left side which is my weak side and also spent £2 on juice yesterday so not too bad.

Got over £100 in the normal savings for when hubby goes to his new job hoping it's not too tight he's handed his notice in at work so this will be his last week of payment from his old job then it's no pay for a week in his new job ..........it's making me determined to be extra frugal so we can just chuck the savings at the Halifax card at the end of June we shall see

Taking Kk to playgroup today need to pop to lidl on the way up there for milk and cold meat and some breaded chicken and rice, then on the way back I need to nip into the butchers for a box of chicken for the freezer to see us through til we go on holiday, other than that we don't need much as just making do with what we have xx

Will catch up on more paperwork when I've dropped Kk off at nursery xx

Bit of a spendy day today

Took Kk to toddlers then we nipped to lidl on way back home and spent £9 something on cereal, milk, stir fry veg, yoghurts, plasters, mushrooms, cold meat and then we popped into the butchers and got a huge 5kg tub of chicken breasts which will be put into freezer bags and put in the freezer

Bought Kk a sausage roll from Brownings for £1.15 but it was awfully greasy so he only ate half of it

So not too bad but I forgot the breaded chicken so might need to get that tomorrow for Kk as he's a wee fusspot about eating naked chicken as he calls it

    Morning

    Hope you're all well

Really trying to keep spends to a minimum so far I'm doing ok

Need to pop to lidl for cold meat eggs and cheese as having omelettes tonight plus need to get diluting juice

Going to playgroup so that'll cost £2 probably get the kids a cheeseburger from the burger van outside of playgroup so that'll be £3.60

We hav avon run tonight so far we have £270 in orders I have quite a few customers who normally give me decent orders so hopefully we will get past the £400 mark again means we get £100 commission

I have £167 in the normal savings for when hubby moves jobs hoping to make it over £200 tomorrow ..........potentially money for the Halifax card by the end of next month

Hoping the rain stays off til I'm back home from playgroup so we don't get wet

Twenty two day til we are off on holiday........cannot wait xx
