Default Vegetarian Bacon??

I don't eat pork, (after seeing a documentary about pigs being slaughtered, loooong story) but after nearly 5 years I'm REALLY missing bacon.

I was on a Jet2 flight a few years back and had a veggie muffin that had a bacon substitute that tasted very nearly like the real thing.

I've looked for veggie bacon and never found any. Does anyone know where to get it, or if it even exists any more????

I'd kill for a bacon and egg sandwich!!

LOL

I said Tesco sell it............ didn't say I buy it!

Their own meatfree is the better of the two but they both smell far better than they taste. I overcook it so it's really brittle then sprinkle it on salads to pep them up a bit.

Tesco own brand, Morrions sell Quorn and also Holland and Barret sell it

Been using it for years. The best stuff was sold by Kellogs under another name but was taken off sale in Uk due to genetic modified soya

Bacon and eggs...A day's work for a chicken, a lifetime commitment for a pig.
It's so nice to be insane,

Ah! So that's why I can't find it anywhere, at last I can stop looking now. It was the best of the bunch.

I'll eat beef occasionally if I'm in the mood, but I've never been interested in trying other meat like duck or lamb for example. I've only ever tasted pork products (but not actual pork as in chops) and beef products, ie steak, beefburgers. But the only thing I really enjoyed the taste of was bacon.

The thought of eating pork makes me feel physically sick. I guess I'm just a really fussy eater.

I rang the distributor for UK about 4-5 ago, they were most annoyed with Kellogs actions although at the time it was still being sold in US but not UK due to soya

It was really nice stuff the best I have tried. The Holland and Barret stuff cant remember name now but they sold 2 different types but it wasnt cheap

Because most vegetarians aren't vegetarian because they don't like the taste.

I've never tasted black pudding, but I don't think I'd like it. The thought of what it is, even the veggie version would stop me from eating it.

As I said, I'm a very fussy eater. Tried to eat a banana this morning and was gagging on the first bite because of the texture.

Does veggie bacon have the same texture as normal bacon by the way?
