Magazine offers - 3 for £1, free gifts etc ONLY POST OFFERS HERE 4th Aug 08 at 5:46 PM
This is a continuation of the previous thread here.

PLEASE ONLY POST OFFERS HERE DISCUSSION POSTS SHOULD BE PLACED ON THE NEW THREAD HERE

The following note is from Martin:

Now I'll probably be struck out of the NUJ for writing this. However magazines use a host of marketing tricks to get us to sign up, and often stay subscribed even if we're not reading their magazines.

Yet active MoneySavers can use this to their advantage. There are lots of different types of deals, but most effectively say "sign up by direct debit" and we'll give you three or six mags for free (or for £1). Sometimes you may get a free gift too.

    Their aim

Their aim is you forget to cancel the DD whether you like the mag or not, after all a subscribers a subscriber.

    MoneySavers aim

Sign up. Read the mag. Cancel the direct debit at the end of the trial and possibly sign up for another trial with the same magazine all over again. Of course we shouldn't kill the magazine industry. Don't repeat this too often. if you are a loyal follower then get your subscription - it's always substantially cheaper than buying it again and again in a newsagents anyway.

    More about the list below

Below is a categorised list of magazines with these type of offers, based on information provided from MoneySavers. It's sectioned into subject categories and sub-sectioned into offer types. Of course offers change, so do check the terms and conditions before you sign up.

Please continue to post your magazine spots and periodically (forgive the pun) we'll update this list

what is the JANE09D bit on every one of CompetitionsCafe's link ???

I do hope it is not an affiliate link, but unfortunately I think this user has a track record of doing this

If it is then please stop doing it - you have been warned before

similar in the post just before this one there is a customer-id inside the link ... think this may just be a cut and paste error rather than an affiliate link though

or has Martin changed the rules and allowed an affiliate free for all now ? If he has then I apologise for the interjection.

Can you please show me one instance of where I have posted an affiliate link on the forums? Or one instance of having been warned?

On the contrary I have exposed other people for posting affiliate links on here in the past (in one case where the poster did it over 160 times). I also pointed out that the person who did this is also the owner of another affiliate site posted on here recently and yet my post pointing that out and giving a non affiliate (direct) link to the offers was deleted while the post to the affiliate site was not!
I complained about this here earlier today:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1400837

JAN09D is I assume a code for January 09 D(irect debit) which is the subscribe online or BBC tracking code for the offer - nothing to do with me. If the JAN09D code is omitted from the link the 3 for £1 does not come up.

I think you have got the wrong end of the stick here?

Fine - if this is not an affiliate link then I apologise for the intrusion

Given that you have exposed others in the past - on this thread- then this must be where my mental association with your Id came from. You are the Lone Ranger not the Outlaw. Again I apologise for casting aspersions.... I should have run some searches to confirm identity.
