Thanks for the links with the Dr Who DVD's (The Sun), I have a McColls closeish to me that I didn't realise was McColls so I can take a walk there each day to get the DVD's rather than having to pay postage.

Well these are already out on DVD so I assume there is a fall off in sales after so long. I know Zavvi had some of the new series for £4.99, so almost as cheap per episode.

there is never a fall off in sales when Doctor who is concerned especially the new batch of the series, thats why there is always a price war over them. They will lose a lot of money over this the vanilla releases are always good sellers.

These are individual episodes, so rather than loose sales, poss encourage, those who wet interested as a result may well go out and buy the series or watch on UKGold.

I haven't been out this weekend due to having a nasty dose of the cold.
Did I miss anything good in this weekend's newspapers (apart from Doctor Who) ?

I think you've all but answered your own question.
If somebody IS buying the SUN and doesn't want the DVDs, why would they have been to ASDA, Martins or McColls to redeem the coupon ?
And it could be too late to take them in now. Our ASDA gave out the last Saturday DVD on Sunday afternoon, (I got it! ) and that's contrary to "the rules" since the coupon should be redeemed on the day of issue. (and I know places that stick to this - often because they have returned non-collected DVDs by the following day)

Not sure if you want to pay anything for these, but they're usually available on Ebay. I bought one of the Brideshead ones that I'd missed in the middle of the series for about 80p on Ebay. HTH

You don't have to buy the paper at Asda, you can simply take the coupons to be exchanged - I'd assume each store has them behind the cust services counter. I went on Monday with vouchers for sat & sun that I'd been given, bought the Sun and exchanged all 3. I was glad of this, forgot to go on the Sat and work on the Sunday when its open. I suppose each store is different - my local usually hands out the unused discs a few days after the whole promotion has stopped.
Derek you can sent off for the whole set if you get the coupons (probably cheaper than the cumulative bus fares if you went each day) and you get a bonus disc not available to on-day collection.

Lol,yes Im aware of that....where i used to live our local martins used to keep all the dvds, and let me collect all of them at the end of the week, not everyday,so i could buy the paper elsewhere and not necessarily pick up the dvd on the same day....these were doctor who dvds from the sun, think it was a few years ago, similar offer to this one.....

shame you cant just send them a postal order for the amount instead of having to buy the paper every day and collect the coupons....oh well..

Time Bandits DVD in Mail on Sunday 30th March
Just a heads up for next weeks Mail on Sunday 30th March. They are giving away the Time Bandits DVD free inside the paper.
I'm first in the queue for this one
"Time Bandits tells the story of six audacious dwarves who steal a precious map from the Supreme Being. Using the map they travel through time, landing in the Middle Ages, the Napoleonic Wars and even Ancient Greece, with hilarious results. On the way they crash into the bedroom of Kevin, an 11 year old boy living in 20th Century suburbia and Kevin is led on the most extraordinary adventure."
This is created by Python star Terry Gilliam and features John Cleese, Sean Connery, Michael Palin and Sir Ralph Richardson. Music by George Harrison.

There was an advertisement on television for a crime/murder mystery book free with one of tomorrow's broadsheets. The sound was muted so I never got to see the whole ad.
I think it was either The Times or The Daily Telegraph so keep a look out anyway.
Updated tonight
The book is "The Lady's No. 1 Detective Agency" and its free with The Scotsman so only north of the border I'm afraid.

This Sunday The Independent is giving away Luis Buρuels classic film Exterminating Angel.
Luis Buρuel, father of Surrealist cinema, was terrified of crowds, disliking society as an institution and believing that religion and ideology are simply fronts for selfish interests. He develops these themes in this work, an imaginative allegory on the character of man and the futility of the upper classes.
After a lavish dinner party in a stately mansion, the guests find themselves mysteriously unable to leave the room. As the days pass the elaborate pretences and facades that they've built up by virtue of their position in society collapse completely as they become reduced to living like animals to survive.
This weekend
Only with The Independent on Sunday print edition
