Free Personalised Barclays Debit Card

Barclays Personalised Card

Not sure how long this has been going for but a friend told me you can personalise your Barclays Debit Card with a picture of your own. Barclays have a number of other designs should you want to pick one of their's. You must currently have a Barclays account to do this.

I've just ordered one for myself but it does says it might take longer to arrive than normal due to demand and to use your current debit card until then.

I think it's pretty good, hope you think so as well.

Does 'seem' to be a proper Barclays site, but they want confirmation of ALL of your card details, including the security number !

I got mine today after ordering last week sometime. It looks really good and is genuine. After you enter the card details you get the bank security details like when you sometimes pay online to ensure that it is genuine, Hope this helps :)

Yes it is fully genuine, both of my debit cards are personalised, pictures of the dogs and hubby.

If you are still doubting simply go via your own barclays online account, the option is there.

Yeah apologies I didn't realise how 'dodgy' it looked!

But if you go on the Barclays site yourself, type in personalise in the search box, the first option should be to do this.

My picture for the card has been approved, just waiting for it to arrive which they said 5 working days.

I'm aware this is already on the forum by user MaccaHallam on his or her post HERE but I wanted to take on a different approach which could save you on having to purchase/buy a separate TfL (Transport for London) Oyster Card. As you may have read or watched in the news, that early this year Contactless Payment Cards are now accepted on TfL London Buses, which is such a great innovation in technology within banking cards. This means that you no longer need to carry a Oyster Card for use on Buses.

    Key Advantages/Developments:
    • Low credit will no longer be an issue using Contactless Payment Cards.
    • Can be used to pay for items under £20, simply Pay & Wave.
    • In Late 2013 you will be able to log onto the TfL Oyster online website using your Contactless Payment card number.
    • In Late 2013 Contactless Payment Cards will be introduced onto the Tube, Docklands Light Railway (DLR), Trams, London Overground.
    • Possible developments on other modes of transport within the UK, National Rail, Buses.
    • FirstGroup are introducing Contactless Payments on FirstBuses around the UK.
I hope this helps in anyway, I felt it was important that I raised awareness of Contactless Payment Cards current and future potentials. (Also to note: Oyster Cards are £5 to buy which can be refunded, but getting a Contactless Payment Card is absolutely FREE!)

Yes they've been doing this for a few years now > http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?p=49766041

I saw an advert on the TV for it myself the other day. Seems an odd thing for a bank to use as their main selling point but then having used their services for a couple of years I can see they must be limited on things to sell themselves on.
