New glasses - to money save or not to money save

Following a recent eye test, I am planning on getting new glasses. Having had my eyes tested in my usual opticians (not a high street optician), my choices of glasses are limited and there are no special offers that I can take advantage of.
In B00ts for example, I could get two pairs for £75 (single vision lenses). In my opticians (depending on the frame cost), I'm looking at over £150 for just one pair.
I would love to support my usual opticians but I feel the price difference too much and am sorely tempted to visit the high street.
Likewise if I do visit the high street for my new glasses, would you take advantage of a free test with them? This seems a daft thing to ask but my thinking is that if the high street opticians make up the glasses wrong then at least I would have more come back.

If the glasses are wrong then you should have just as much comeback anywhere. Why pay loads more for the 'same thing'- that is unless you want / need expensive designer frames?
We have an excellent Specsavers branch. Great testers and they are really good at replacing lost arm screws etc even if glasses were not sold by them!!
You can take your prescription anywhere to have it fulfilled.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything! --
Many thanks
