Totally agree. I forget if I mentioned it to you but I am loving the Payment a Day challenge at the moment. It has given me such a boost to try & find even £1 a day to knock off the numbers.

That sounds great, I'll definitely be partaking in that challenge - is there a thread on here to join?

I've got off my backside today and gone through my spare room and garage and filled my car ready to head off at stupid o clock to do a car boot sale. There's nothing of any value, only 50p things but hopefully that will add up!

I'm off to stay with my parents for tonight as the boot sale is near theirs so may not post tomorrow depending what time I get back, but I'll update with the car boot total as soon as I can get to my computer :)

    Thanks for reading :)

Well I got up at 6am and went to do a car boot this morning. I came back with half the stuff I took which I find frustrating but I made £62 :j very pleased and when I can get to the bank I will transfer the money onto my very account :)

I've joined the Payment a Day Challenge and paid the car boot money off my very account this morning - definitely heading in the right direction, it's just a slow process and I need a lot more patience!
Also sent a dress back and had a refund of £60, which I've paid half off my very and half off my BC.
Still feels a bit insurmountable (I know I'm just having a bad day but it's getting to me today, can't stop thinking about how I let it get to this point)
Updated my signature as the interest on my loan is slightly less than I thought this month

I've just had some brilliant news! I'm getting a small (not so small in my mind!) bonus from work which will be paid at the end of the week. I've been told it will be a couple of hundred pounds but won't know for sure until it goes in. I'm so excited. Always nice to feel appreciated, especially when it's going toward helping me on my debt free journey :)

I'm contemplating opening my money tin also, i've been collecting 20ps for 2 years now so I'm sure there will be a fair amount in there which will help to pay off, it just pains me to open it!

I've just had £150 become available in my paypal account from some ebay sales also - I've really embraced the selling but I don't know what I'll do when the things I can sell are gone! Because I know there will be some money coming from this bonus I've rounded it up out of the grocery budget and paid off £200.00 from very. I'm a little worried about how much my payments will slow down when I've run out of things to sell, but for now I'm just pleased to be getting somewhere.

Not so good today but still managed a payment of £3.07 to my BC CC by tidying up the bank balances and sticking to even numbers :) We are having dinner at a friends so that has reduced this weeks food bill although I'm finding it much more difficult to stick to the food budget than I thought. Am going to look into the possibility of a muscle food bulk meat order which will hopefully last almost a month for £75.00 and then I'll just need to buy accompaniments...worth a try I suppose.

Having had a good think about the balances and how I can get everything paid off quicker, I decided to do a balance transfer from my vanquis onto my barclaycard 0% so the amount I pay to vanquis will remain the same, but will hopefully clear quicker.
I wasn't sure if it would clear as I heard horror stories about vanquis not accepting balance transfers but I've just checked and it's cleared onto the account. Baby steps!

It's got 35 months left (I'm not sure how I got accepted with my level of debt, but it allowed me to pay off 2 high interest cards before starting my Debt Free Diary) so I thought if I can focus on paying off extra on the vanquis card which has a horrendous interest rate, it would be beneficial in the long run.
I've made a nominal payment to my credit card today, but it all helps :)

So I got my confirmation of bonus today and it's £529 :j can't believe it, I was only expecting £200-300 so I'm thrilled. It will go into my bank tomorrow so have set up a payment of £300 to very and £230 to MBNA.
There is a big BUT though... I know that this marks the end of me being able to pay big amounts off as I've sold all the things I was able to get a decent amount for so from here on out it will be my normal payments and the odd smaller extra payment, at least until next bonus time which will hopefully be around Xmas.
I did buy my OH some things on my very account earlier this year which he will be paying me back for shortly so that will be another chunk, and hopefully clear the very account but I'm worried that without seeing big chunks like I have been I will get very down about the amount I owe.
I know every little helps and I'm trying to concentrate on that but it does worry me.
I also have city breaks coming up (booked and paid for a long time ago) I have already got some spending money put aside, but I'm worrying about the rest - I'll be doing the city of a shoestring which is fine by me if it means being debt free but I need to hammer that home to my OH.
Thanks for reading my ramblings, as always!
