fuel tax. what can i claim back?

Hi

I get the following from my company.

£150 per month net for my own car (less 40% tax)
Fuel card for all fuel including private mileage. For whch i will be taxed on

In return, i can also claim 25p per business mile ( first 10,000 miles) and then 14p per business mile (10,001 - 25,000 miles). i cannot claim any other ofter 25,000 miles in a year. All the above is claimed tax free from my company each month.

I average 1800 business miles per month.

My question is, can i claim any tax back upto the HMRC 40p and 25p tax refund system?

Yes you can claim the difference between the amount your employer pays you per mile and the HMRC limits.

The monthly allowance and the fuel card amounts are fully taxed so have no impact on your claim.
if i had known then what i know now
