Saving in the UK

I live abroad but have money in my Natwest account. It seems that because I don't have a UK address that the best savings rate I can get with them is 0.1%. Tried Ing but they aren't interested in taking my money because I don't reside in the UK. Can anyone suggest financial institutions that don't put up such a barrier.

There are quite a few UK banks that will accept non-resident customers, including the Indian ones mentioned in the linked page. You do have to hunt for them though. It isnt hard to find the information in the online T&Cs.
And of course all the offshore banks will accept you.0 -
You can look at banks offering international banking. Nationwide, Barclays if you dare!) are 2 which do these. (sterling or foreign currency accounts)
On another note, my father wants to open a savings account for my son. We live in France, and so he is unable to open an account in my son's name in the UK. I can open an account for him - just wondered if anyone had found a good international (sterling) account offering a good rate of interest and good customer service? Not sure both exist together, but worth a try!!
