I had a couple of quiet days,decluttering-wise.And I still haven't got to the charity shop with the stuff I listed here last week .
Because I hate the house being untidy, traditionally I sent my OH and the 4 kids to inlaws on a Sunday. They get to play computer games/be spoilt by grandparents without me nagging them to tidy up,and I get to clean, tidy, declutter, eat hot meals, drink hot cups of tea while they are still hot :rotfl:.So every week the house is "reset".And I declutter "a cupboard",or "kid's clothes",or " a drawer".But there is still too much "visual clutter" lying around the house.
So this Sunday just gone,I concentrated more on "small areas" around the house. So,for example, instead of deep-cleaning the whole kitchen,I spent an hour decluttering one side that has bee n driving me crazy for months.I spent 20 minutes sorting out my bedside table, about an hour sorting out teen son's desk......I did this all around the house for 6 hours.Oh ,my word-what a revelation. :j:j:j.So thrilled with the resuts. The house looks so much better.Still got clutter, but there were areas that I had stopped seeing, and was never happy with because I had just got used to how much clutter was sitting on a surface. Now I am on a mission to sort different areas each day.Got a whole school day tomorrow to continue while everyone is out.If they're not careful,my family might come home and find they don't own anything :rotfl::rotfl:.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Have had a lovely day today: emptied/dusted/polished every surface in son's room: 2 floating shelves,window-sill,top of chest of drawers, small "book-case" built into son's desk. Also tidied the toys in his built-in cupboartd. His room looks lovely, with the work done on it Sunday and today-best it ever has,I think. And he was really pleased with it when he came home from school.

I have continued doing "little projects" today. It is making a lovely change from working on great big areas.Am seeing lots of quick results at the moment.:j
Having said quick, the first thing I did this morning was sort out the tv cables. Our tv is on the wall, and there was a spaghetti junction of cords hanging down from it : cord to Virgin box,one to DVD player,a couple to the Wii,etc. And it looked awful.Today I got a couple of elastic bands, and managed to hide most of them(couldn't hide 2 of them, but the wall looks soooooo much better).
This afternoon I decluttered a box of drawers containing craft items my 15 -and 14yo used to use when they were toddlers .It was like opening a time capsule.
I had 20 minutes to look through it all,and set aside anything to donate to the children's school.I also took a photo of the box (an IKEA wooden set of drawers, about A4 size) to show teacher and ask if she would like it also.Yes please,so that will,if I remember, leave the house tomorrow.
Out of the house today:
205-206:foam letters and numbers
207:googley eyes
208:sticky pads
209:coloured paper
210:coloured cardboard
211-217:7 bags of different beads
218:crepe paper
219:bag of ribbons and strings
220-223:4 wooden animal shapes
I also donated another 224 pretty box filled with a few items:
225:bundle of colouring pancils
226-227:2 bundles of play English currency notes
228:pretty star-shaped box with lid
229:Dobble game
230:spare pair underpantsSPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Hi everyone,
Hope the decluttering is going well. I have just taken 3 large bags of stuff to my new cs - I Community - the contents being the items I have already listed. Had a lovely chat with Natalie over my first ever cup of peppermint tea - no sugar but not repulsive. So next cs bag started:
232 Mug
233 - 269 individual flavoured tea bags (acquired for DSisil now in Germany)
270 - 386 Small reels of coloured cottons
387 Sturdy decorative cardboard container
Recycled
388 Large Cardboard Box - dismantled & already in wheelie bin with
389 washed plastic milk carton
“See you tomorrow”
