Hard drive question

Hi how many hard drives could I put in my pc,I currently have a 500gb and 150gb.
I've seen there is four sata connection on the motherboard I wanted to have x2 500 x1 1tb,is this possible ?

Amd phenom 9550 220mhz 4 core
3gb ram

    basically do you have enough power connectors? and if no all is not lost as you can split them down with adaptors (but probably worth a cursory check of the power supplies spec that it can support multiple hard drives on the feed you're chaining them up to... which it should do -HDDs don't use much power compared to other parts of the PC eg graphics card)

    350w is low. I was using PSU's with that output 10 years ago. 500w+ these days. Probably worth sticking a new PSU in there also. Avoid the cheap ones though. They maybe rated at 500w max for short bursts not continuous use. Ive had PC's with 8 drives in them. I have 6 in this one with over 10 TB of storage. A media centre PC with 15 TB of storage also. I do find these larger hard drives tend to fail way too soon after the warranty expires..

    Spend proper money and you get a proper warranty.

    Just buy a large harddrive and partition it into the sizes you need.

    Your motherboard will take 4 - knock yourself out there, and if your PSU has enough power connectors it'll work. For a while. You might be putting that PSU under strain and it may fail, and that may involve a lot of heat, or a power spike that could damage other components.
    What make is it? If you want to run more drives, a better power supply (not just a cheap one with a big number on it!) would be a wise investment.

    Yes, but an additional harddisk only adds ~ 10W to the load. If the PSU was fine until now, it will be probably too after adding one more hard disk.

    But I agree, I would add one bigger one to replace the smaller ones.
