    The "Save 12k in 2017" Thread! 4th Dec 16 at 7:57 PM
So, the title is pretty self explanatory, but this is the place to be in 2017

In 2017, the aim is to save £12k (or, any other amount if you like!) from 1st January 2017 til 31st December 2017. I know it's early, but it gives you the time to plan for how you are going to do it!

    RULES:

    - This challenge starts on 1st January 2017 00:00 and finishes on 31st December 2017 23:59.
    - Everything saved MUST be done between these two dates.
    - Any interest gained during this challenge on your savings can be counted!

Feel free to sign up but, please only sign up if you intend to go the distance - the thread tends to start off great and then people disappear

Hello, please sign me up for 2017. Total fail this year (spent it on holidays, festivals and a bathroom upgrade) but I'll try for £6k again next year. Thanks SF for running this!

I don't count my pensions contributions either towards savings as it's a long-term investment and the value goes up/down. But agreed, everybody makes their own rules here

    Hi SF,

Can you please sign me up for £120k ?

Feels a little risky at the light of the 2016 amount, given that we are going to build an extension to our house as well. But that number and all the efforts and support from this community should continue to motivate me.

I am now half way through my retirement saving target. Yaye!

Been lurking around the forum for ages so what better way to get involved than building my savings back up with the help and motivation this forum provides.

In the process of buying a house so will be good to rebuild that emergency fund come the new year.

Sign me up for £7000 please (Hopefully that's achievable but like others said, aim high!)

Could I join please? I'd like to aim for £5000. I only work part time and that's not far of my years salary so a bit of an ambitious target! I'm hoping to clear the house out a bit with a lot of ebay selling so hopefully earning a bit here and there on the side will boost my efforts.
