Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 13 13th Apr 16 at 12:29 PM
This is the new thread for those trying for a baby.
    The previous one is here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5143999

Please be aware that this is a thread for those trying to conceive. If you wish to announce a pregnancy (or are only a couple of days from testing) and you have never used this thread before, please either wait until CD1 or use the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread. Hormones can run high on here (nature of the thread!) so please be sensitive. Many thanks!

There is no such thing as a silly question, so please ask anything you are curious about. Many of us have 'been there done that' and many of our graduates still read this thread and are happy to offer advice when it is needed and relevant.

As with everything deemed medical, we cannot offer medical advice, so please visit or call your GP if you have any concerns or questions. Getting a preconception check up is recommended and allows your GP to know that you're trying for a baby as well as identifying and rectifying any issues or problems that may interfere with a pregnancy before you conceive.

Midget I'm replying to you here so really hoping you find it!
    Hi all

So after a bit of advise as not sure what is normal now.

This is the oddest period I have had a for a long time ( warning tmi coming up!) started with brown spotting then turned into the heaviest and most painful period I have ever known with large clots ( about the size of a 10p piece) I've read online that small clots are normal so now I'm worrying that something else is up seeing as my cycles have never settled since coming of the pill.

I can't offer any experience as I haven't had one that bad but mine have varied massively since coming off the pill - 2 v 5 days, painful v not etc etc.

Thanks mouse - I'm 40 (how did that happen?!) and ttc #1

Cats & MancMama - ah, that makes sense thank you. I naively assumed that if you hit a peak you'd automatically ovulate. Think I will have to search for a biology for dummies lesson on YouTube

Have a great holiday Millie and the awards evening sounds fun pink petal

I'm afraid I've no idea about the heavy periods midget - it crossed my mind about the early miscarriage too, maybe it's worth checking with the GP. I don't suffer from terrible period pain But still find I'm struggling 2 days a month, so you have my sympathies if yours have been mega painful.

Here's hoping the new thread will bring lots of new good news x

Thanks for the suggestion Cats. I've thought about that but as I usually have a 10 day luteal phase and my spotting started 10dpo I think it may just be a bad unsettled period even though I came off the pill Feb 15. Gahhh I wish I had never taken the pill lol.
