    Hopefully I'm not tempting fate here, but in this year of an unusually high level of celebrity deaths, I thought we should celebrate those of a ripe age who are still going strong.

    Hopefully within the next ten months the following will all reach their century:

    Kirk Douglas (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirk_Douglas);

    Zsa Zsa Gabor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zsa_Zsa_Gabor); and

    Vera Lynn (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vera_Lynn)

    Are there any others of an advanced age I may have missed to counter all the gloom this year?

    Note (seemingly for the majority out there alas!): If you don't win you 'lose'. 'Loose' rhymes with 'moose' and is the opposite of 'tight'. Why do so many people get this wrong?

    Two of the three I mentioned have now turned 100 (Vera Lynn today). Happy birthday, Vera!
