Website price histories/tracking for household appliances 13th Mar 17 at 2:13 PM
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Is there any way to track the previous prices of a particular item from a particular shop. I've used idealo and price runner and can see the items that I want to buy have been at lower prices but I'd like to know at which shop. I'm keen to buy from a more reputable company than some of the shops that idealo highlights so I'm trying to see what's the lowest prices shops like currys, ao and John Lewis have sold the appliances I'm after, have been, and whether to buy now or hold out for an offer.

    Thanks.

    There's CamelCamelCamel for Amazon

http://www.pricerunner.co.uk and https://pricespy.co.uk both give graphs of price history, but I don't think they do it for an individual shop

Actually - price spy does give you some historic pricing for each shop, so you could just pick John Lewis and look at the prices there

E.g. I just picked a coffee machine from the JL website - https://www.johnlewis.com/de-longhi-ec680-dedica-pump-espresso-coffee-machine/p3061513

Then typed in the product name into PriceSpy and got a bunch of historic sales prices. I can see JL have dropped the price by 30 since they first sold it

Thanks but it doesn't seem to work for the appliances I'm looking for (only certain retailers). I know this has been on ao.com for a long time but shows no price history.

Well, JL is price matching AO.com at the moment for that oven - but AO.com have a code to get 40 off that i've just noticed

Historic prices are all well and good - but you're buying it now, right?

These guys are selling it cheap.. https://www.drelectrical.co.uk/cooking/built-in-ovens/single-oven/bosch-hbg6764s6b.html

I'm not desperate for it so want to wait to get best price but only want to use shops like JL or ao. Not prepared to use dr electrical as never heard of them. But, as I said, I'd like to know the cheapest price ao or jl have sold it for so I know what price to aim for - when I see it I can then buy it! I don't need it for 2 months so hence no rush- just checking regularly to get best deal.
