Thanks Silvercar for your response. Can you confirm that I make just the one claim for the total amount not 2 separate claims as the flights were on different booking references and 2 separate payments went through my credit card.0

I didn't get any response to my original post so I am reposting in the hope that someone can help.
I booked flights back in January for travel in December for myself and my husband. At the time it was cheaper to book the flights separately rather than on a joint booking. Both flights were over £100 and both were paid for using a credit card in my name.
I know I will be able to claim under Sect 75 for my booking but I am unsure if I can claim for my husband. If I can, do I make one claim for the total amount or do I do 2 separate claims? Or does my husband have to make his own claim even though his flight was paid for using my card? I'm so confused .
Also, I have now booked alternative flights but at a considerable higher price than the original Monarch ones. Can I claim for the difference?
Thanks in advance for any help that is provided.
I'd assume as it is on your card that you can claim for both, it'll be two claims, but they do both qualify independently. I'm not sure how anyone else would be allowed to make a claim on your card.
As for the extra, it's worth a try as S75 can cover incidental costs associated with the original purchase. Now I know when Low Cost went under people that paid more for the same accommodation to be able to go on holiday (their flights were still available and paid for) and S75 covered it, each case is individual though and nothing to lose by trying.0 -

Don't know sorry. I would have guessed at one claim. When I book BA flights for 2 people they show as 2 entries on my Amex statement. Also anyone paying a deposit and final payment would make one claim, even though there are 2 credit card entries. So I would have thought one claim, but I'm guessing here.I'm a Forum Ambassador on The Coronavirus Boards as well as the housing, mortgages and student money saving boards. wow ..thanks for the advice Martin:T::money:.. Santander Bank refused me on Monday 2nd Oct when contacted about my debit purchase on flights by Monarch Airlines saying contact Monarch?!!. Phoned Tesco same day & they refunded my club cards boosts points on Monoach vouchers ( well done Tesco) immediately. On your webpage advice today I got a different story from Santander bank & they are taking up charge back refund pending wait for it ....I have proof of Monarch Airlines have ceased trading and gone into receivership!. Don't the Santander customer recovery dept read the media?.Anyway rebooked my inflated "cash in" flights with Jet2 and lets hope they don't nose dive under before I fly to sunny Fueteventura in November!:A0

My apologies if this question has already arisen and been answered.
I booked a one way flight with Monarch for myself and my partner, using our Credit Card in July - I am the main Card Holder. The amount was £151.60.
Santander asked me who were the tickets for and I explained they were for myself and my partner. They told me that as there were 2 tickets bought the cost has to be split between myself and my Partner and it is then under £100 and I have no claim. I explained it was out of our joint account and he was the Second Card Holder and he said that made no difference, I am the main Card Holder and I would only be entitled to get back my part of the ticket (if it was over £100). My Partner would have no Claim. As it happens, I paid via PayPal and they are going to refund the WHOLE of the monies. Well done PayPal, I will pay everything by PayPal whenever possible.
I cannot understand this, who ever buys separate tickets when booking a flight together with separate Credit Cards? What if you are a couple with 2 children? Only the Card Holder would be entitled to get back a quarter of the cost of the flights?
Does anyone know if the above is correct? Santander Credit Card insisted this was correct. Although I will get my money back from PayPal, I really would like to know if Santander are correct. I would have thought if you buy tickets and they are over £100, then you would have a claim. Not have to split the cost between whoever is travelling with you.
Thanks for any help here.0 -

I just feel as though we are being sent on a wild goose chase by ATOL.
Just want to do this as simply as possible- is Section 75 the best bet?
Thank you for your help - it's much appreciated!
I can empathise, Tesco's help pages say if it was a package with Monarch then you need to use ATOL and I'm inclined to agree with them else what is the point of having ATOL protection (unless you are stranded abroad, the repatriation is worth the £2.50 per booking in this case). I am a bit baffled that ATOL are sending people to card companies in the first instance, I assume there is a reason, but it's not clear.
Have you been able to speak to Tesco to see if they are aware the CAA is sending ATOL protected people to them first?
Maybe wait till you see if you get the CAA form, I'd always assume that insurance pays out and S75 and chargeback are a last resort to get a refund. Remember someone has to pick up the bill in the end.0 -
Hi hope someone can give advice
Have booked a holiday for 2018 through travel agents - obviously flights no longer happening so I have contacted Thomas Cook to ask what happens
They have told me if I cancel i will loose deposit of 200 per person
They have offered alternative flights - rubbish times and not local airport so cost to me and the flight times mean I loose a day of my holiday.
Any changes outside of what they have offered me will be at my cost - does anyone know if all of this is correct?
Thanks in advance0 -
I did post earlier but just want to clarify something
Is this the email that entitles me to return passage?

That is true if you are trying to claim under Section 75. Claim using chargeback and this rule doesn't apply. Bit naughty of them to make out you had no way to get a refund. Send the template letter for chargeback on the main web site to them recorded delivery and hope it hits the right desk.0 -
Any news on Last Minutes stance? Got one Easy jet flight and one Monarch, would like to switch out of these for different flights but I cannot get through!0
